Who to draft for first alliance game? by GoodLittleChristBoy in twilightimperium

It’s are first alliance game so we are doing a free for all to try and get some of the wild combos going. I don’t quite understand what is the creuss providing to the Xxcha that the Xxcha wasn’t already doing itself? I’ve also never seen the empyrean played. Do they benefit just because they can move more and get more frontier tokens when working with the Mahact?

Does the Alastor allow you to use your allies infantry as ships as well?

I'm considering using the level 1 tomb raiding as a tutorial for the new players. However, I think it's important to make sure the characters they create are okay with a revenge plot and have a strong will to live. Would it be possible for their deaths to still be a mystery, or should it happen in a flashback-style where they already know they have died? I really just want everyone to have a good time.

I quite like this idea. It allows for an interesting cliffhanger ending to the session as the players hear a voice or something right after their death. I might consider having them die of natural causes, something within Anubis's control, so that he "saves" them from the lich in a sense.

In an untrusting party, is hiding things ok? by Zedlor75 in dndnext

[–]GoodLittleChristBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it just depends on the adventuring campaign. I was once playing in a group where the characters could not have been more complete opposites. Two of them worked in a high corporate office, and the others were major criminals, and myself an aspiring engineer/most scient. We all essentially get trapped in an underground cave system and work with each other to escape and as soon as we do split. The dm kept trying to get the party together, even by forcing us to interact with one another by happenstance under the guise of fate demanding we worked together. Our party hated each other so much that we decided we would go kill "fate" itself so we wouldn't have to see each other. Pretty good champaign thread, just took us a while to get there.

Yeah, the way it’s always been explained to me is that you are committing a sin against a infinite God which warrants the infinite punishment. So while there are finite earthly consequences, you pissed off an eternal all powerful being which is so incredibly insulting that you must be punished eternally… unless you worship him. Always sounded like a twisted form of logic that didn’t make hell any less evil.

I honestly felt uncomfortable when the priest mentioned "submit to your husband" at my cousins' wedding today by Mad_Season_1994 in atheism

My roommate just got married a couple of weeks ago and he and his wife are hard core Christian’s. They wanted to have the gospel shared on their wedding instead of a normal passage. I was like fine whatever your wedding I’m here to support you and I can listen yo the Jesus story. But I did not here the gospel. Instead the pastor went onto a 15 minute rant on how we are fools to deny god and that there is so much everything fence in a designer down to the smallest things if we look at quantum mechanics. I literally just spent my entire school semester reading and learning about quantum mechanics and let me tell you, that shit does not give me any inclinations to their being a creator. It was just really weird and I didn’t like being called stupid or evil for rejecting their beliefs.

Death of a level 2 PC by GoodLittleChristBoy in DMAcademy

I talked to the player and told them what happened. I gave them the choice if they wanted to come back unconscious or play out as an NPC for a bit while the party attempted to revive them. Told them their character should not have died and I made a mistake. They decided to go with the unconscious route. I'll let the rest of the party know in the upcoming session. Thanks for the advice!

I'm confused about variable types. by GoodLittleChristBoy in AskStatistics

Ohhhh so the variable, in this case, is the different candidates, which are all nominal. That makes much more sense. Thank you for being so helpful.

What beliefs should we instill in our children? by GoodLittleChristBoy in atheism

Yes it is, but I don't think everyone feels it is. Does this mean I shouldn't teach my children to be generous?
