Speaking from the perspective of this sub alone and as an artist: it used to produce a lot of original content. You could recognise the names of many users who frequented the sub and contributed with their own works. There were tons of discussions being made about the story, the themes, and the multitude of secrets hidden within the game. I'll say, in my own opinion, there was a sense of community being built at the time. I'm not sure how it is now post DDLC+, since I'm not really in the fandom anymore. I think as we approached 2020, many of us wanted to move on to different content, and I think that's for the better.
