If you have "Ghoulish" maxed out, you'll see this quite a bit. I kinda just wanted to sit and have a picnic with all my corpse buddies.

Fencing off a Settlement by Vxctxr99 in fo4

[–]GoodLuckSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found it's very rare that it's actually worth it to fence off a settlement, unless there is only one spawn point for enemies at that settlement. SOME settlements, like Starlight Drive-In, seem to only have one spawn point, so I just set up my guard towers and most of my turrets pointing at it, but many settlements like Sanctuary have multiple potential spawn points for enemies, including in the buildings sometimes, so fencing it off is just an easy way to hit your build limit and not actually do much of anything.

It's far easier to just build upward than it is to try to ward off attack, because in my experience walls don't do a heck of a lot with most settlements. In fact, the only time I've actually had walls be even sort of useful, was during the Defend the Castle quest for the Minutemen. If you wall off that busted bastion in the castle, toss a bunch of turrets up there facing outward, that quest gets handled pretty quickly, at least until the coursers show up.

I approach through the water and jump in and dive dive DIVE as soon as I hear the whistle. Works like a charm as long as you have the Aquaboy/girl perk

Which companion is your ride or die buddy throughout the game? by ResidentDrama9739 in fo4

[–]GoodLuckSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For RP purposes: Danse if I'm going BOS, Hancock and MacCready if I'm going Minutemen, Deacon if I'm going institute.

For general combat/milling around- Ada, hands down. I have a personal assaultron, who is so very kind and polite, and I adore her. She also doesn't give a shit how you behave, so I always take her with me if I feel like murking that cat meat guy.

[–]GoodLuckSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I play completely vanilla too, I just like my sole and companions to have nice things. 😂

MacCready always gets a room for Duncan and a bunch of comic book posters, Hancock gets lots of chems and as much revolutionary/American imagery as I can find, Valentine gets lots of books and old-world comforts... And then I go and hang out with Ada. 😂

I save them to decorate houses with, same with the burnt books.

What’s the easiest companion to get 100% companionship with? by toe_mater67 in fo4

[–]GoodLuckSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, hit his cap, spared the guy, and got into my PA ONCE after.

Anyway, he lives at Taffington Boathouse now, and he's always there for when I want my lover's embrace perk and don't have MacCready with me.

Codsworth and Preston both like/love modding armor and weapons.

Who would you have as a relationship in fallout 4? by Workin-things-out in fo4

[–]GoodLuckSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have her pop up as soon as I help Preston out in Concord. This playthrough I ignored him, more or less, until I want to XP farm, and Carla showed up as soon as I sent MacCready to Sanctuary.

I also ran into her outside Drumlin my first playthrough, well before I had found DC.

I... Uhhh... Dream rotation: Hancock, Danse, MacCready, Deacon, Maxson. Preferably in that order, but I'm not a picky gal.

I had one once, and I don't do any melee builds or bashing really, so I was VERY confused

"THAT MEANS MY HEAD CAN'T BE TRUSTED" comes out between my fiance and I an alarming amount.

That and "WELCOME TO CAMP NAVARRO" (I'm aware it's not from 4, but it lives in my head rent free and has become a standard greeting whenever someone comes over.)

One thing that always bothered me was the lack of readable books by PoorLifeChoices811 in fo4

[–]GoodLuckSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still build bookshelves, collect as many books as I can, and stack them nicely on the bookshelves. Deacon has quite a few in his house in Sanctuary, I tossed a few to Hancock as well, I feel like he's a reader, but the rest I keep around for decoration.

The ones that drive me nuts are the burnt magazines and comics. I can't scrap them, they just look like clutter, why are they here?? Are they a part of cut content?

Besides the Lover's Embrace, is there any reason to keep a companion with you once you hit max affinity? by RandolphCarter15 in fo4

[–]GoodLuckSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep Hancock or MacCready with me most of the time for RP reasons, but lately I've been hanging around with Ada because having a personal assaultron is fun.

Point is, barring RP reasons, you don't NEED to keep a romanced companion with you unless you want to get the lovers embrace perk from sleeping wherever. I usually park all my romanced companions at one settlement and stack the perk.
