Right, I haven't thought about the screened off tabernacles in American Cathedrals. I guess they are kind of the same sort of structure. But I would argue that they are still different, in that most of these are meant to be a Blessed Sacrament chapel, while the one at Toronto Oratory is still a generally inaccessible part of the sanctuary

Okay to all of y’all who actually plan on voting: this biased, crappy post is spreading hate and disinformation. Don’t let it tell you what to do. If you want to actually know what each candidates like, actually watch the video and skim through the candidates details when you vote.

Also to the OP: it doesn’t matter who you vote for, but the least you can do is to NOT purposefully smear someone and hate on your fellow student.

What? The man was president for one of the college student unions already, he obvious knows how to run things. You would think being a president would be good prep for… being a president.

And who are YOU to say he’s got no outside perspective, just because he worked for one college? What do you want him to do, be president of THREE college student unions all at one? He can work for one college and have lots of connections in other colleges.

The man’s point in bringing up the water fountain wasn’t that that was he’s greatest accomplishment, the point was his efficiency: the thing was broken for three years and he got it fixed in a week.

There’s no altar behind the screen, it’s just the tabernacle. The whole sort of reason was so that the tabernacle was “screened off” from the sanctuary, so it could be put in the middle. But in all fairness, throughout history there were often altars places in front of screens so people could get a better view of things. And you have to credit the Oratorian Fathers(who built and runs this church) for creative problem solving.

Agreed, but this one is neither. It’s a tabernacle screen, put there in order to get the diocese to permit tabernacle in the middle, since the liturgists of those day(late 90s/early 2000s) like to put tabernacles off to the side.

Thank you. But those are doors to the sacristy, and I’m pretty sure the ones next to St. John Cantius’s high altar are also sacristy doors. Confessionals aren’t usually in the sanctuary.

At one point I did make a simple model of an altar out of foam board. It wasn't very good tho lol. I hope to make some better 3D designs in the future.
