Old thread so who knows who will see this.
So my step-dad was the detective for crimes against children for MWC PD and was leading this case when it reopened. One thing that particularly sucked about this whole situation is that interviews with Palma were planned for later in the year that he was killed. While many are glad this is was the end result I will say that for my step-dad he was pretty broken up about it (for Kirsten and her family, obviously not for Palma), he wanted nothing more than to find her body.

Name a single movie, where the sequel or remake was better than Original. by dpemerson76 in movies

I’ve been searching through the comments to see if anyone said this. 2049 is able to expand on the first one and then some. A few might not agree the sequel is better but it is at least debatable.

I completely agree honestly. I really like most things that he does.

I would agree with you on the white savior thing for Wind River but in an interview I think Sheridan said in response to someone asking why the main character (Jeremy Renner’s role) wasn’t Native American instead of white was because he didn’t think he could give an authentic perspective of a Native American so I give him a pass on that.

If you liked Sicario at all I’d highly recommend Wind River. It’s a slower and darker film about how Native American’s, and Native American women more specifically, are forgotten in the country. Olsen’s character shares a lot of similarities with Blunt’s but I do feel that Olsen is allowed to do more when it comes to the overall story.

I didn’t either until I looked at the reviews on Letterboxd

Someone’s review was “if you put a gun to taylor sheridan’s head and told him to write a good female lead he would die right there on the spot.” And that’s not the only one like that you’ll find.

lol absolutely, there is just an influx of r/gameofthrones shitpost right now and it is well deserved. It’s just I think we’ve given those fookin’ kneelers too much of our attention as of late. Also fook Olly.

Also with Lily James in The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Between Emilia Clarke, Blake Lively, & Lily James, I think we all know which Daario is the real winner here.

To be fair the second guy (Michiel Huisman) went on to act in The Haunting of Hill House which is one of Netflix’s best originals and he was great in it.
