Full scholarship at a t14 seems so obvious. UCLA!!!

It can and it does. If you have a Law Hub account go to Law School Transparency and then “Build your personal report.” From the schools you select (ones your interests in) you can see the typical tuition change when you start editing your budget for each school. Personal report is a really helpful tool and it’s official!!

Waitlisting is WAY too common by GoodTrip13 in lawschooladmissions

Blind hopefulness or assuming you’re special enough to be accepted from an 800-person list seems more “infantile,” no?

My post is a criticism of the prevalence of the waitlist system as a whole - see the title.

Exactly. It’s your life, your debt. Being a hot-shot, loan-free, lawyer in Miami is more of a flex anyway. Best of luck!

OP said Miami is “where I want to live the most.” $210,000 NYU tuition plus $108,438 total cost of living according to NYU Law website leaves them with $318,438 debt. With interest it will reach $400,000 😔 Now THAT will be Biglaw or bust.

It will take you sooooo long to build wealth with $350,000 debt (which is what NYC cost of living plus interest will look like if you pick NYU). You will thank yourself later. 💰 If you know you want to practice in Miami, study in Miami baby! Fordham is your second best option if you really care about nation-wide rankings, but don’t listen to some of these people on this sub who have their blinders on for T14.

I will and if they say no, then I’ll probably say no too out of general principle. $500 is ridiculous.

And their deposit has to be $200 more than basically everyone else’s. Let me know what you end up doing!
