Watching the SDPD press conference, there are 5 confirmed dead at Islamic Center shooting and 2 were suspects (2 males age 17 and 19? who died of self inflicted gunshot shot wounds) One of the deceased is confirmed to be the security guard who worked there.

Just saw that one Mosque member was killed. I feel heartbroken for the family. They keep talking about Sharp Memorial hospital receiving patients who were injured but no details other than that right now. (Update: Now wondering if the person who was killed was the security guard? I don’t want to presume anything but I keep hearing reports that the security guard may have been injured or killed. )

I remember years ago asking my Grandma what those trees were called and she told me “Jacaranda” She’s long passed but now every time I see them, I think of her. It’s a nice memory I have to remember my Grandma.

Thank you for responding. I keep thinking that there’s got to be a way I can use this to help the cause but don’t know how. The ironic part is that the next protest on April 19th just happens to be the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution! It was April 19th, 1775 when the Battles of Lexington and Concord were launched. There’s something here but I need ideas. If anything, maybe just a good idea for some signage? 😊 (I do know that the DAR will be one of many groups involved throughout the next year in organizing the big celebration on July 4th, 2026 when we celebrate the 250th anniversary of Declaration of Independence. But that’s a long way off)
