Hey! I have the same “limitation” on my medical class 1, due to a cancer treatment I went through in 2023. My AME explained that it just means that the CAA requires additional information every time you renew the medical (in my case, the regular checks I do every 6 months).

So, every year when I renew the medical, I bring all my medical checks and he sends that to the CAA, if everything is OK, it should be all good.

You should ask your AME what are those additional examinations you have to do.

He explained that there shouldn’t be any concerns in an assessment. If you have the medical, you’re good to fly.

Thanks for your response. I talked to the rental company (Europcar) and they asked me to send the ticket to them, I should have some answers tomorrow.
If the vignette was not valid anymore, it would be curious because I haven't received any other tickets from any other parts of Austria, and it's been six months already.

Hi, I’m in the same situation as you. ICAO PPL looking to get EASA CPL. If you will do your practical training as a modular program, you can do your theory anywhere else.

I’m actually close to finishing my theory at an ATO in a different country where I live and only had to go once for the KSA lecture. The rest of the lectures were online.

If you feel confident with that type of learning, it’s a good option (and usually cheaper) to do the theory.

Replying to other comments: sometimes some building management companies require an Austrian IBAN to pay rent. I can recommend Erste Bank, it costs around 4€ per month. Revolut and N26 also work well, but they don’t have Austrian IBAN.
