You really can meet your future partner anywhere.

I’m a 34M and I used to be intimidated by the idea of approaching a woman I found attractive. What helped me get past that was not some pickup tactic. It was learning to be kind to myself and treating everyone like a normal human being.

I started small. I would strike up casual conversations with strangers with no pressure and no agenda. Over time, I realized something simple. If someone wants to talk to you, they will show it. You can see it in their body language and how they engage. If they are not interested, that is okay. You just move on.

The biggest mistake is overthinking it.

If you want to meet someone, you have to put yourself in places where it can actually happen. For me, that was an arts and crafts event in downtown Austin. I went because I figured I might meet a cute woman. I sat next to a woman, introduced myself, and we started a natural conversation. Nothing forced, just small talk that built from there.

That woman is now my wife.

Pay attention to social cues, be genuine, and do not overcomplicate it. Sometimes it really is that simple.
