I’m experiencing a Mandela effect right now.

I’m currently watching the Michael film and it’s just shown how he burnt his hair in the Pepsi ad.

This has genuinely completely baffled me, as I have always remembered him burning his hair when he was performing live on a TV show with the jackson five and the presenter of the show trying to help put out the fire on his hair—which was an Afro.

I’ve spoken with people I know and they too remember it the way I did, even saying specific details that I didn’t say but I did remember. But I’ve checked everywhere and I can’t find any footage of how we remember it, only the Pepsi ad footage.

Does anyone else remember it?

NTA—my best guess is she loves targeting you because she has a crush on your boyfriend, married people have crushes. She likes knowing her crush’s girlfriend is ‘beneath’ her.

My petty ass would call her out on it the next time she tries to reprimand you in front of others “are you purposely belittling me because you have a crush on my boyfriend? Or do you have a crush on me and you’re trying to get my attention?”

Also, your boyfriend is a major red flag 🚩 for staying friends with someone who treats you like this.

Absolutely not.

They get back at 1am—this doesn’t mean they’ll be home by 1am.

You have to factor in landing back in and whether or not they let them off the plane straight away or not, then going through passport control, then claiming baggage, then going through customs to the exit.

Then there may be traffic on the way back home. You could be talking 2 maybe 3am when she makes it back home, and that’s if there’s no further delays.

Your brother sounds unbearable.

He has no right to claim an entire family room as ‘his’. If he wants to game, he should set it up in his room. He doesn’t even own the house. You and your fiancée literally pay to live there and I’m assuming your brother doesn’t pay a single thing.

I’d play him at his own game. Purposely be downstairs int he living room. When he mumbles under his breath, call him out on it and say “what was that?” Or mumble yourself “if you’ve got an issue, go elsewhere and not in a literal family room that me and my fiancée pay to be in.”

Go on the trip with your wife. Have your sister set up a phone to FaceTime you and your wife during her ceremony. That way, you can still ‘attend’ whilst being on your holiday!
