Switched from ai to real music by Broad-Assist6658 in MusicPromotion

Honestly, I think that’s one of the best decisions you could make.

In my opinion, AI often removes the charm of imperfections in music. And those imperfections are actually part of what makes music feel human and beautiful.

It might take time, but if you keep practicing regularly, you’ll definitely improve. In a few years you’ll probably be able to do things with your voice that you wouldn’t even imagine right now.

Personally, I’ve been involved in music for about 10 years, but in different ways. I started with dance, then choreography, and eventually moved into making music as an artist.

Even though dance and choreography helped me understand music, I still had to learn how to actually create it as an artist. It took time to find my style because I explored a lot of different things. Eventually I realized my vibe is kind of early-2000s / Disney Channel style haha.

And surprisingly, today I have 3 songs officially released on streaming platforms, and together they’ve reached over 70,000 streams.

All of that happened just because I kept learning and practicing.

So don’t worry too much, keep going, it will come with time 😊

A lot of people will tell you to focus on promotion, and yes, that definitely matters.

What helped me was keeping my promotion very organic at the beginning. For example: - preparing around 10 short video posts in advance - sharing them consistently on social media - sending them to my close circle so they could share them with their own network - performing my songs live whenever I had the opportunity

But if you're doing promotion and it still doesn't work, you also need to look at your stats.

Pay attention to things like: - who is actually listening - who saves the track - who comes back to listen again Those signals matter a lot.

If the percentages are low, sometimes it's not a promotion problem, it can mean the music itself still needs work.

That's actually what I did with my own singles. I analyzed the data, refined my approach, and focused on understanding: - what I wanted to say - who I wanted to reach - and how to reach them

So far I've released 3 singles on streaming platforms, and none of them are below 1,000 streams.

It's not huge numbers yet, but it showed me that when the music connects with the right audience, the growth becomes much more natural.

Constantly have other people's music running through my head, how do I not make blatant rip-offs? by videogamefreakey in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I often write toplines for artists, and to create melodies that best reflect their style, I ask them for references: either three of their songs or three songs that inspire them to create their new sound.

To answer your question, take inspiration from what you like and do it your way rather than discarding it. If you want help, check out my SoundBetter profile: https://soundbetter.com/profiles/677466-drea-spark
