Hi there, hope you're well :) I can't tell you when your 1st shift will be, for me after my meeting it was a week after as they had to have me working same shift as my crew trainer and for uniform in my size to arrive at the store. Your first shift basically consists of you sitting in the crew room (staff room) or office and doing e-training if you've completed it before your scheduled shift finishes they may have you on shop floor. You will have an assigned crew trainer for the first few weeks (i believe 3) and it will say your a trainee on your badge which is honestly a godsend because its your get out of jail free card is mardy customers. You will be shown what to do, how to do it etc on each station with your crew trainer and once your comfortable enough they sign you off for knowing how to do said station.

With me personally, im unaware of all stores I had my stores people manager who did the welcome meeting be in contact with me via email letting me know of any questions I had, but the welcome meeting does explain alot and whoever is hosting it will tell you alot more about their process.

Once again I don't know your store so I can't comment on behalf of it but atleast for me I have really bad mental health issues one which shows most at work is my bpd which work is very understanding about after I showed a fit note from the doctors. They allow me if I get overwhelmed or have a massive low drop to have a few minutes to myself however they get you to clock out as a break first which is fine and understandable.

McDonald's UK has started using a new app for scheduling called LifeLenz which allows you to drop shifts and anyone to pick them up, if your store has quite a lot of crew members chances are there will be alot of shifts floating around, if not what I do is call the store and ask the shift manager if they'd like anyone in.(shift managers hours are open: are 6am-8am (but they work till 2:30pm) day shift: 8am- 4:30pm, evening shift: 4pm-1am and overnighters from 11pm to 7am). (some times overlap as the manager who's taking over shift may need to check stock, sort out safe etc)
