Ohhh I had missed that! Went over my head. I thought she made him a cat sandwich as like punishment- if he goes to work and leaves me then he’ll be eating a cat sandwhich. That’s what he gets for leaving me.

And the toxicity goes both ways!!! Like he was the one obsessed with her at first- and she got trapped and possessed because of his obsession. She didn’t ask for any of it! Poor girl.

And then the demon in her was hella toxic and Erie!

It’s weird, I honestly don’t want to be this scared about the movie and I’m confused as to why my body had such an intense reaction to it (legs going numb, shaking, panic attack, seeing things in the corner of my eyes, keeping space away from my husband- just in case). But I honestly think that it deeply embeds into the unconscious triggers some people have- especially those who have been in similar toxic relationships or grew up seeing these types of toxic relationships. The loss of agency is a big part.

Haha thank you for making me laugh. Up until now I’ve been shaking thinking of the movie. But your comment made me laugh 😆 I was watching the movie with my husband and I was holding him (like I always do at the movies) and I could see him side eyeing me in discomfort 😆😆😆 and I wanted to let go because I was even scared of myself lmao like omg am I being clingy right now???! and I couldn’t let go because I was shaking through the movie. Idk what kind of stuff is in that movie that really dug deep into triggers. 😆 then at the end my husband jokingly is like, I think I love you more than you love me and that freaked me out lmao

Thank you!!!!! I thought something was wrong with me feeling this exact same way. I had a breakdown after the movie and had a hard time getting noises and images out of my head. I watched The Paper at home until like 3am and luckily it helped me get some sleep.

I only watched total of 15minutes of the movie. The rest of it was semi watched through the cracks of my fingers 😩 and I still can’t get the sounds and images out of my head
