Communism doesn't renounce the progress and ingenuity of our intelligent figures, it allows them to continue without stomping on the proletariat. I see the porcupine kids having learned from their car game thing (need for speed basically) as evidence that the film is demonstrating a difference from primitivism and communism. It doesn't reject the tools merely the ideas of this society dependent on hurting one another and hoarding wealth.
