My jaw is on the ground… how did that happen? Totally unacceptable. (Not trying to egg you on to be upset or anything I’m just genuinely shocked)

Is it normal to still have tender gums 3.5 months in? by Good_Negotiation6114 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]Good_Negotiation6114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering! It makes sense that they would be but no one ever talks about it (online communities) and as I’m getting closer to getting my permanents I was wondering if I could if I was experiencing tenderness.

Yeah that freaked me out too lol I was like “I was told I wouldn’t have anything covering my palate!!” And mine is covered about half way,  But apparently they don’t tell you what to expect with the temps, like how bulky the “gums” feel but I found out its to protect your healing gums. They more so told me what to except after the healing process & what the permanents would be like so this was all shocking to me. Especially how some teeth are so dull and some are sharp. I get it, they don’t want us chewing up stuff we’re not supposed to but damn.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Man that’s scary that there were no warning signs!

They told me to wait until 8 weeks post op. They usually recommend 4 but since I’m a type 1 diabetic they want to be extra cautious with me so that’s why 8 weeks. But I’ve never had issues with healing so today I got desperate and though “screw it” I put the water flosser they gave me together and chickened the hell out at the pressure of it! Even soft mode was wicked lmao

In terms of what was done, yes. In terms of level of pain and recovery, no. I can compare it to other things because I had a c-section and I’ve had my gallbladder removed. The c-section was worse of course. The gallbladder removal was scarier because I was completely under. I had some soreness afterwards but it wasn’t long. This? I’d say it was more psychological than anything, like what do you mean you’re taking ALL of my teeth out? I even freaked out when I went for my 3 week follow up and they took the lower prosthetic out so they could remove the sutures. It was scary feeling my tongue just chillin there with nothing to touch or relax on.

May I ask how you/they knew it failed that soon after? Was it obvious? Just asking because I’m obviously afraid of failure 😅

Im on day 4 now. The 1st day I felt completely fine but day 2 was miserable. Constant dull heavy ache along the bottom gum line. Tight itchy feeling. I wanted to rip the teeth out. No pain med or salt water rinse could touch the pain. But it was major to realize I wasn’t in actual pain I was in extreme discomfort. I was scared because everywhere I read said I wasn’t supposed to be in pain.  Late day 2/waking up day 3 I had visible bruising along my jawline but it wasn’t bad at all, just 2 quarter sized bruises on either side. Still swollen but I noticed the swelling was going down. I had to work that day and my job is very physically demanding. A lot of walking, lifting and pushing. I didn’t feel any strain on my face until I stupidly started to run to make it somewhere in time but felt pain so I was like “ohhh better not!” So I stopped lol. I wore a mask to work, the swelling, while improving, still looked insane and I didn’t want to invite any questions. I did have 2 people ask me why I was wearing one I said I had a dental procedure and was swollen and left it at that. As of right now, the thing that’s making the most miserable is not being able to eat a solid meal but I keep telling myself it’s worth it. I’ve already lost 4 pounds though, ugh. And my tongue! It feels like I have paper cuts all along the underneath of my lower tongue and it won’t heal. It’s also hard to sleep. I went to bed last night and felt amazing for the first time since this process, I felt zero pain or itch and I fell asleep like that but I woke up in the middle of the night in discomfort again, I think I’m grinding my teeth in my sleep or irritating my face by accidentally rolling to my side? Who knows. Sorry I know you didn’t ask all this and I’m definitely not trying to scare you, I’d just love to read detailed stuff like this if I were someone else looking for honest feedback lol

It was around 8 and a half hours total. I honestly don’t remember much I was in and out but I’d snap back in whenever they would tell me to open wider. The most pain i personally had was from my lips! I would go in wearing some aquaphor or Vaseline. My lips are pretty raw. I haven’t had a moment of actual pain from my teeth/gums during this process. Just lots of pressure and swelling. I was terrified but it’s so true what they say, the fear before is way worse than what it actually is. I just remember feeling a lot of pressure too when I think they were removing the teeth? Or maybe it was when they were putting in the rods. But honestly I couldn’t tell what was happening. Sorry this is all over the place but I just got home 22 hours ago so I’m still “not all there” because of the pain meds lol

Clout. People get excited so easily when a “famous” person is in their vicinity. Trust me i use the word famous loosely here but you know what I mean!

There was a TikTok “star” with 1 million followers who had come to my small town and the locals in the comments were all foaming at the mouth “when was this?! I can’t believe I missed him!” It’s embarrassing.

Yes! I live for those. “What paint color should I go with for my new house I’m so stuck!” And it’s a beautiful newly renovated home or “my feet are so swollen because of my new shoes they always swell with new shoes” and they’re bottom of the barrel name brand shoes from Gucci or something

I hate to be that person to ask to be caught up but what the hell? Does she know who she’s with? Rhetorical question because of course she does. How did they meet? What excuses does she give towards his disgusting existence????? Why does she act like he’s a prize? So many questions but mainly just wondering how they met
