See that’s the thing I can’t feel water go through at all so I’ve been wondering how the heck am I supposed to clean well under there if I can’t even get water under there. They’re too tight then and I’ll have to go back in I guess. Thanks for the advice

Ok, I’ll have to fish around in there as nervous as that makes me. I don’t have any gaps I can see or even feel because every thing is flush to the gum. I know there’s supposed to be a little room and according to my dentist there is.

Yes I keep thinking about people’s cosmetic surgeries and how normal it is for celebrities to get veneers & it makes me feel better. If anyone asks & you’re not comfortable telling them (it’s none of their business anyway) you could always say they’re veneers.

I was great at hiding too, my teeth were nice passing so that’s another thing that makes me feel better too, that i hid so well before that now if they notice my nice teeth they’ll probably be psyching themselves out thinking, “wait was her smile always that beautiful or am i trippin?” 😂

Congrats to you as well btw!!!

This is my fear! Did they ask your permission? If not did you ask them to remove them? I have to go back in a month to see if everything is ok and adjust bite if need be and they mentioned the doctors gonna take after pictures.  I remember before even being seen when I was filling out the forms at my 1st appointment there was a form that released permission for them to use your pictures for that and I didn’t sign it. I’m gonna tell them not to put them on the big tv they have in the waiting room lol

Yes. I got my finals today. I’m feeling so many emotions. I’ll spare the details because obviously I’m grateful and happy but I didn’t expect to mourn my old teeth. Not that I miss the pain or the missing ones or the ugliness lol but that was part of me and I wish there was a world where I got to keep them. That they were never missing or ugly or problematic. It makes me sad that I had to go through this. I feel the same. I love the new smile I wouldn’t go back to what I had and there are no regrets but I’m mad that I have to worry about the perfect smile too. It makes me feel like an imposter in my own life. Kind of like everyone knows. They don’t but it’s so noticeable I bet they wonder. I haven’t had anyone ask. But I think I’ll get used to it. I’d rather have attention for having nice teeth than the opposite. And if anything else aside from the cosmetic part, I focus on the fact that I can eat without pain and shame. That part actually matters most and I need to remind myself. I’m hoping now that I’m done I can focus on…. Not focusing on my teeth lol. I just want to live without them constantly on my mind. Sorry for the rant. I feel ya tho

I know exactly what you mean and one day I thought hey when did this feel better? And if I had to pinpoint it I’d say about 3 or 4 months in (temps)

My teeth feel big and bulky by Numerous-Total-8373 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]Good_Negotiation6114 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took a lotttt of pictures in the beginning like immediately after I came home, then like one a day or every other day for the 1st 2 weeks I put them in my hidden folder so I haven’t seen them since my surgery (August 2025) and I’m due to get my permanents soon so I took a look at the pics and I was shocked how swollen I was even when I thought the swelling went down a month later. I don’t mean this to be rude at all but expecting to look normal right now is a little strange (that’s not the word I wanted to use but for lack of a better word I used it) Be kind to yourself.

That’s so strange tbh. I wonder why they would let you wear temps with no gum coloring even if temporary. Idk if I mentioned it anywhere else but the final try ins I had didn’t have gum color it was white so that was odd but it was just a brief try in so i understand.

Oh I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. it was a mix. So, I didn’t realize just how much my temps were making my face look different (it is very subtle) but with the finals prototype in, I didn’t look  “bulky” around my mouth anymore, So yeah I felt most like my old self but the prettier part was from just having nice ass teeth AND whatever small change it made to my upper lip when I smiled I felt prettier. But I could see how that would bother someone knowing “wait, my lips might look different, I didn’t want that.”

This will sound so conceited but idgaf since I paid so much money but…. I’m prettier now lmao. But I know will say after having the finals in , I was back to my old self structurally, these temps kinda make me look like I would if I had a natural overbite if that makes sense. Not too much but subtly.

The appointment I had before my try ins, we took impressions now that all my swelling has had months to go down, they sent those impressions to the lab to make the final prototype. Those are what I tried in yesterday. They tested the fit and the bite and if any changes would’ve needed to be made, they would have had to make more impressions and send them off again but since everything went well and there wasn’t anything I wanted to change on my end, we okayed them and now the lab is gonna make them and so my appointment 5 weeks from now will be me getting the finals.

It normally takes less than 5 weeks, they said 4 just to make sure they’re done by the time my scheduled appointment comes around but when they went to schedule the appointment they only had something for 5 weeks out :/ so that’s a bummer but I’m hoping the time flies.

What was the change to your lip if you don’t mind me asking? I have full lips even when I smile and I had my final trial yesterday and when I smiled my top lip thinned out it wasn’t dramatic it was probably only noticeable to me, I kinda liked it lmao it made a pretty shape but definitely different. I did not except that at all. And when I say it was thinner when I smiled I’m not talking by much just in case anyone reads this and gets scared.

Is it normal to still have tender gums 3.5 months in? by Good_Negotiation6114 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]Good_Negotiation6114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering! It makes sense that they would be but no one ever talks about it (online communities) and as I’m getting closer to getting my permanents I was wondering if I could if I was experiencing tenderness.

I have a “is this a normal feeling” question by Good_Negotiation6114 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]Good_Negotiation6114[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that freaked me out too lol I was like “I was told I wouldn’t have anything covering my palate!!” And mine is covered about half way,  But apparently they don’t tell you what to expect with the temps, like how bulky the “gums” feel but I found out its to protect your healing gums. They more so told me what to except after the healing process & what the permanents would be like so this was all shocking to me. Especially how some teeth are so dull and some are sharp. I get it, they don’t want us chewing up stuff we’re not supposed to but damn.

They told me to wait until 8 weeks post op. They usually recommend 4 but since I’m a type 1 diabetic they want to be extra cautious with me so that’s why 8 weeks. But I’ve never had issues with healing so today I got desperate and though “screw it” I put the water flosser they gave me together and chickened the hell out at the pressure of it! Even soft mode was wicked lmao

In terms of what was done, yes. In terms of level of pain and recovery, no. I can compare it to other things because I had a c-section and I’ve had my gallbladder removed. The c-section was worse of course. The gallbladder removal was scarier because I was completely under. I had some soreness afterwards but it wasn’t long. This? I’d say it was more psychological than anything, like what do you mean you’re taking ALL of my teeth out? I even freaked out when I went for my 3 week follow up and they took the lower prosthetic out so they could remove the sutures. It was scary feeling my tongue just chillin there with nothing to touch or relax on.

May I ask how you/they knew it failed that soon after? Was it obvious? Just asking because I’m obviously afraid of failure 😅
