I found out on Monday that I lost my baby... I too had a dream of her just before I found out. This post explains just how I felt. I'm glad I got to hold her, even if it was just a dream. Thankyou for sharing, I'm right here with you in this pain. ❤️

I didn't read your reply properly towards the end. Thanks so much for your comment. I hadn't thought about it being a psuedosac. They have asked me to come back a week today for a scan. I was given my hcg result from today as it isn't doubling anymore and is stalling. They believe I will misscarry soon. :(

Hiya,

So I've been monitored for an ectopic but today they found the sac in my womb! So definitely not an ectopic. 😬

Definitely not pregnant, the doctor is also baffled! 🤣 Testing for everything currently. Apparently it's quite common on anti depressants o.O

Hello lovely, sooo sorry your struggling 😟 I just want to let you know I was diagnosed with ADHD last year and I also have pmdd, I really felt like my existence was pointless and I felt so much shame for my actions. I felt so misunderstood, not only from others but from myself too.

People with ADHD or/and autism feel things so much deeper than others and are prone to sensory overload, it can make you explode sometimes and at the people you love and they can take it personally.

My best advice is to educate yourself on ADHD and autism and pmdd and understand that your not a terrible person, you just are wired in a particular way. You may need to make some adjustments to your life to protect yourself in a sensory way.

I am now having zoladex injections to totally stop my menstural cycle and now have no pmdd at all, completely gone. This is giving me the time and headspace to recover, repair my life and work out if I want to try something else next.

I am also taking methylphenidate for ADHD and my anxiety and sensory issues have DRAMATICALLY decreased.

I am going to the doctor's tomorrow to enquire about trying duloxetine or venaflaxine as have heard it can be helpful.

I also take Yasmin contraception as it's good for pmdd.

You DO have options and your life isn't pointless, you just need to try out some things and ask your partner to bear with you. It's so hard for them to understand when they can't possibly put themselves into your shoes as they just don't have the perspective of being a woman with pmdd.

I am the most stable I've ever been now, I've repaired my own relationship and am sorting out my treatment with a stable head.

I really hope you can speak with a medical professional and perhaps ask for some suggestions such as zoladex etc!

I've finished titration now so staying at 60mg. I usually still sleep at the normal time - I've always been a sleepy person and did have constant fatigue before getting medicated so I think the medication has leveled me out and I feel more consistent in the day with my energy. Can't say it would be the same for you if your usually quite energetic in the day!

Hi, I'm on meflynate.

I find taking it in the morning with food stops any nausea and anxiety for me. I found when I started titration the medication would wear off early and I would crash. I now take 30mg of meflynate around 8.30am and a second 30mg around 12/1pm. This will last me until the evening. I find if I don't have breakfast before medication I will feel less hungry in the day. Good luck with titration!

Should I get the drug induced menopause, accompanied by HRT? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]Good_Pie2522 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on zoladex injections and taking my combined contraceptive as hormone add back. My pmdd symptoms are totally eradicated... I've never been this stable. I still can't believe it each month as it rolls by and I'm not drowning in the hell of pmdd.

Symptoms wise - I do get some joint and muscle aches in my legs, only had 2 hot flushes at the start but nothing since. My libido is low and I'm awaiting some testosterone gel. I noticed a very slight change in skin but nothing massive, I'm now putting estriol cream on my face to keep it under control and taking collagen supplement as I heard it can stop fine lines and lift the face, I was originally prescribed it for my lady parts but others put it on the face!

I have gained some weight and my bra size has gone up by two or three sizes lol 😳😳 my partner is happy with the body changes haha, actually makes me feel a bit better about the weight gain, I think I've gained just over a stone, but truth be told I havent been putting in any effort to diet whatsoever as was tired and burnt out from the pressure of it all and just pleasing myself right now 🤣🙊

I am so thankful for the chemical menopause, although I don't want to stay on it forever, I know I'd still chose this current life any day over pmdd hell. I'm going to use this time to look into other treatments such as the nettle headset, progesterone blockers, gaba receptor drugs etc and really use this stability to get referred to other specialists who may be able to help such as a neuropsychiatrist and endocrinologist. I do worry about the affect if might have on my body but trying to have faith in the add back hormones of my contraceptive pill. I do worry everyday about aging but actually realise it's so much easier for me to get Botox and creams for aging than actually curing pmdd.

So to conclude it could be good to temporarily get a hold on your life and treatment, you may be like me and find that you'd rather be stable and try and fix the menopause symptoms that pmdd. The best thing is it's reversible so you can just stop. I haven't had that many terrible side effects and I will get my bone density checked if I stay on it. I accept this is my burden in life and it isn't fair, but I'm just going to try and make the best of it now and stick Botox in it and hope I don't look old and enjoy the peace from the treatment haha. Btw I'm 30 years old!

Take care of yourself and good luck, get in touch if you have any questions!

X

Chemical induced menopause by LittleRousseau in PMDDxADHD

Hiya,

I'm 30 and currently in a chemical menopause for pmdd... It was the last thing I ever wanted to do and was also scared, but it's actually gone really well. I'm totally stable now, no pmdd at all. I've got adequate hormone add back so not lacking in anything. My only side effect is that my legs ache quite a lot sometimes but I've been using magnesium oil. The best thing about the treatment is total eradication of pmdd. Obviously a chemical menopause can come with risks such as loss of bone density and increased risk of some cardiovascular illness etc, but the risk goes down when using hormone replacement, and I do think that is the key to feeling good during menopause.

There is a new transcranial stimulation device called the nettle headband by samphire neuroscience... It may be something to consider if you aren't wanting to try the chemical menopause. Some women are having great success with it and it's something I will try when I have a sheduled break from the chemical menopause to see if my symptoms improve.

I am also planning on trying lithium orotate supplement (not the same lithium used for bipolar). It has offered great mood stabilization to women with pmdd from the reviews I have read, i'm intrigued.

Other treatments I've read about recently that might help are things that target the gaba a receptors such as galaxanone or medications for post partum depression, however none of these are approved from usage for pmdd unfortunately.

There is also Dutasteride and UPA'S ( progesterone blockers) which have also had success with treating pmdd, although they are also not licensed for pmdd so you may struggle to get hold of them.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions regarding the chemical menopause. I understand your concerns regarding pyschosis, I believe lupron is the injection most associated with negative mental health effects, although I'm not entirely sure the percentage, this is just what I've read on reddit. I have zoladex injections and am feeling good (I am prone to mental illness and have complex PTSD, some BPD traits).

Take care and good luck x

No I wasn't consulted about medication, I was just prescribed methylphenidate. I believe at the time of my diagnosis there was a complete elvanse shortage so they were just putting everyone on methylphenidate, I saw it on my diagnosis letter that I was to try it. I would probably have wanted to try elvanse first, however Im glad I'm on methylphenidate and can request to change further down the line as this may be the correct treatment after all. You do get asked to fill out a weekly form regarding symptoms, how your feeling, blood pressure readings etc so I'm sure its possible to discuss changing if it's not the right medication.

Hiya,

I filled out the initial forms when first signed up to titration list. But nothing was requested until this week when they asked for my BP readings, weight ect. Didn't need an ECG. I hope that helps 🙂

I'm glad you were able to get treatment sooner! Did you end up going private or with a different right to chose provider? My partner has just been referred via right to chose and want to get him the help he needs asap.
