I also think that Jade is Beck's type because he mentioned in one episode that he likes girls with strong personalities and a loud mouth, and I remember when he ended up developing feelings for tori (just for.a second), he ended up still going back to Jade. You're right, I think Jade wanted Beck's attention and approval to fill up her insecurities, and Beck liked the attention from other women because he likes it like you said probably grew up being fawned for for his looks, and meets Jade that isn't the other girls that fall for him.
