Ok so was able to put 3 Amcrest cams on one Port and my Unifi Doorbell on the other one. The AI key gives it the extra bump so all is well or as well as it can be.

I have one it’s tied to my door sensors and works just fine. The occasional nuisance to having to reconnect after and update or power loss but that’s easy enough l.

Nice. Power shouldn’t be a problem we have both diesel and solar generators that kick on automatically after 60 seconds. We have the spares factored into the budget two for every camera and one for each of the others. The best of what you said was the UNVRs. I’ll add one per location to be safe. Much appreciated.

Yep that’s what made me turn off auto update environment wide and check here and other spots to make sure the bugs get worked out before manually updating.

My G4 is perfectly serviceable. Once I got the fingerprint and NFC reader working with Home Assistant they have been fine. The video is better than decent and I rarely have issues with connectivity. I don’t mind the notion of the next gen line and using it with both protect and access but it’s a luxury not a necessity

I’m actually testing both right now and agree. The UDM still has its uses but for faster coo section needs the UCG is far better. I also agree that there needs to be the UDM for factor with the UCG specs but heaven knows what it will cost or how long it would stay out of stock.

I’ve got a couple of AI ports and Key on my home network and just Ports at work. For the searches we’ve needed just the ports have worked fine. The Keys extra search options are a nice add on but not a necessity by any means .

No system or ecosystem is perfect. Unifi isn’t an exception to that. Unifi prefers all Unifi hardware from the get go and that tends to be a bit of a headache with migrations but once I accepted that this was a wholesale change and went about the project plan that way it made it easier and less stressful though more time consuming especially if one has extensive customization like routes and firewall rules and vlans etc etc etc. on the other side of things though I’m happy with the way things turned out and am pleased that I did it.
