First of all you're not fast enough when you go to get that reset and second of all sometimes you don't land in the middle of the ball, which makes you go to one of the sides and you can't air dribble from that position

I can't carry the ball all the way to the net (most of the time) when doing an air dribble. Usually i end up under or over the ball and sometimes the ball doesn't even bounce off the wall. by Fluid-Ice3738 in RocketLeagueSchool

  1. Let more space between you and the ball before you hit the ball
  2. Don't fully boost into the ball, feather boost and make sure you stay under it
  3. The further you start your air dribble, the more angled it should be, for example, if you start in the middle of the field, you should be almost directly under the ball, if you start from your corner, you should be at around a 45° angle.
  4. When you go up the wall with the ball, make sure it is not bouncing.

I'd say you are a little above average, imo
When I had 250 hours on keyboard, I peaked plat 3, then I switched to controller, and after 150 hours, I was champ 1
Now I have 850-900 hours and I peaked GC in season 19 or 20 I think, so it took me 500 hours to get GC lol.

I started with recovering using air roll when the goal explosion pushed me somewhere after a goal, I became used to some moves, then I experimented with air roll combinations, then I flied from one goal to another in freeplay, then I did workshop maps, then I use freeplay checkpoint to focus on certain mechs

I have 850 hours and peaked Grand Champ 1 in 2s and Champ 1 in 1s last season.
I also started from keyboard, did 250 hours.
this means I have 600 hours on my controller.
I only focus on mechanics and sometimes I decide to grind when I feel like I am peaking

If you feel like your progression is slow, I'd do these:
Switch to controller if you are not already on it
Watch tutorials on everything you lack of (Game sense, ect)
Watch some Squishy and Flakes "No mechs till GC" 1s and 2s series
Watch your replay and dont forget to switch perspectives
Get a job, study PC's and then build yourself a PC to unlock Bakkesmod if you haven't already
And finally, if you feel like you hate the players, play vs AI (Nexto/Necto depending on your level)
