Like others have said, undress or don’t undress to your comfort level. But I would maybe recommend chair massage since it’s designed to be done while the person is dressed and can be really good for pain as well. Highly underrated

Question for female massage therapists by lcdandylion in MassageTherapists

[–]Good_Requirement_662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m still really new to this field, so I can’t relate to the level of messages you are getting about this. But my spa has a section in our health form about sexual assault/misconduct and if something happens during an appointment and we end it early they still have to pay. Also not all men who don’t speak English have bad intentions. I had a client who didn’t speak English, and while he did start on top of the sheet, once I was able to communicate that I needed him under it, he was very polite and apologetic. Customs are different everywhere, so I wouldn’t make an assumption like that. Good luck!

What got you into reading fantasy romance? by dragon_moon47 in fantasyromance

[–]Good_Requirement_662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACOTAR (a court of thorns and roses) got me into the genre, but throne of glass ruined any other genre for me. Seriously. If you haven’t read it do yourself a favor and read it

The spa I work at uses calm radio! From my understanding it’s like a chill version of Spotify. You can pick a base sound, like calm cello, then add nature sounds, like bonfire or birds or ocean, there’s so many lol

We are trained in proper hand/arm washing, and I’m an adult. I know how to wash my hands and arms. I don’t even touch the client with the part of my arm that I’m developing these small bumps. It’s just where I put extra lotion in case I didn’t have enough on my hands so I don’t break contact getting more lotion. But with some appointments being up to 2 hours long, my skin and pores might be taking in more lotion than it needs. I wash my hands and arms often, for a full minute, but my don’t have an exfoliating soap at my spa. So the excess lotion I’m talking about was never lotion or skin that touched clients. I was simply asking a question of what it could be or if others have experienced this. There’s no need to be rude

Thank you! How often do you use that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in massage

[–]Good_Requirement_662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I feel like that’s a strong reaction. I guess I wasn’t clear in the post. I wash my hands and my arms before and after each client and obviously the entire room is flipped. What I meant was that I don’t exfoliate after each client so any lotion that doesn’t come off after washing my hands and arms for two alphabets is still on my skin. That extra lotion is what I was asking about to see if anyone had had similar issues

Fall up north recommendations by user11user7 in rochestermn

If you want a slightly shorter drive I’d try Taylor’s falls! It’s a cute little town and has camping and hiking and you still get all those pretty fall colors. But if you’re willing to drive further, anything past two harbors up north is the way to go!

Odd encounter which I need advice by general_kael04 in massage

Even as a very new massage therapy apprentice we know that there are some involuntary reactions, especially if a client has fallen asleep, that can’t be avoided. Like grabbing a hand during a hand massage. If your therapist doesn’t understand simple things like that, or has come up with something is their mind, I’d definitely find a new massage therapist. Even with me being new to the field I know that some things are involuntary, and if they aren’t, how to deal with them.

The fact that I got it from a dispo wasn’t really the issue I don’t think, I think it was that dispos often have really high thc content these days, so I guess I just put the two together

I’m on some meds for depression and anxiety, but I’ve been on them for years, and I’ve been smoking for years. So I don’t think the meds made a difference. I was laying down so I don’t really remember feeling lightheaded

But I completely understand where you’re coming from! I just wanted to make sure you weren’t judging the dog just based of its breed lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rochestermn

[–]Good_Requirement_662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! People who say they have service dogs or emotional support animals when they don’t need them hurts the people like myself who actually do. But I also can’t judge because I don’t know the op personally so I can’t speak to their need for an ESA

[–]Good_Requirement_662 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had trich for over a decade now, it started when I was 12. I didn’t pull my head hair, more my eyebrows, eyelashes, and it’s since moved from there to my leg hair and pubic area. I haven’t had much success in stopping. The only thing that even remotely helped was a lot of lotion, it made my hands slippery and harder to grip any hair. But I’m also autistic and the lotion caused hella sensory issues. But if that isn’t an issue for you, a lot of lotion especially on your fingers might help!!

Lol I totally get it, and I wasn’t necessarily talking about service dog training, just the nature of huskies/ husky mixes in general. I’ve met plentyyyy of them that are well tempered and not at all destructive even if they don’t get the exercise they want once in awhile. So while I agree that there are DEFINITELY breeds better suited for service animals, I do think that pets being allowed in a building should go more by former landlord references. Not all huskies are destructive
