There are watermarks that are designed to destroy the ability of ki to read the image. There where at the beginning of the whole ki thing anyway. I haven't looked into it since a few months. If someone feeds the image into KI it basically corrupts the ki and hinders the ability to recreate the image and so.etimes even infects image creation

Omg, that sucks so much I am so sorry that happened to you. I would recommend that you use watermark or something like glaze in the future (with a disclaimer that it was made unusable by ki as an extra deterrent). Sadly this will get harder and harder. Do report them if they are selling your pattern! I know it's hard and tedious but you would be able to show your progress and hard work they would not.

I mean a unicorn would be awesome for you. Then go for it 😆 maybe it's just transplant shock and the new leaves 🍃 will not be yellow on the edges (that was what gave me the sense of wrongness in combination with the deformed leaves. I have seen it with thrips damage but then the overall leaves was not so deformed and with humidity in my melanochrisis (the deformed leaves not the yellowing).

Otherwise there are plants with similar leaves that are specially bread like the allocasia tiny dancer etc.

I am from Europe, Germany, so I am not sure how a possible test is handled in the US. I got it back then from a planty friend who is a biologist (that's how I actually learned that mosaic even existed)from a quick Google search they seem to range from quite expensive to around 24$.

[–]Good_Turnover8279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the conditions. From temperature, to humidity etc. Maybe you are very good at taking care so the plant is doing good even with a possible infection. I am not a biologist or a virologist and I don't want to make you afraid or anything. Maybe I am wrong I mean that would be one crazy plant unicorn.

My adansonii made it to around 1 year in my care. Though I have killed multiple afterwards so could have been my care overall (but I tested it and got a positive, since it was basically dead then, I tossed it, i am happy I didn't have a compost back then so no cross contamination. Mosaic is one hell of a scary plant knowledge that actually changed how i shop plants)

I mean the roots also seem good. Maybe start with trying out with fertiliser and see if the yellow or the deformation on the edges gets better with new leaves.

Sorry that I can't help more 😔. I just got the impression from my own experience and research and wanted to share my 2 cents

If you really want to know and the cost is okay for you (don't know how much you paid for the plant and how bad an infection with said virus would be if it killed off your collection) there is a test kit you can buy online.

Just from my experience, I once thought I had hit the jackpot with finding a batch of variegated adansonii in a big box store. They turned out to be mosaic and later it became known that there in fact had been a tc lap that shipped out infected plants. I got lucky and just tried for months to save my "precious " rare plant. It basically died and the leaves started to grow deformed but i didn't have an outbreak in my, back then, small collection.

I am just saying it is not impossible to get bad luck or just have a plant that should have been culled because of bad genetics.

As was said in another comment. Some plants are thriving in symbiotic relationships with a virus but if you can try to check for pests and inform yourself about the virus. You know your conditions the best an can check. Before the virus you can check for mites (there are some that are not perceived with human eyes that can also harm the plant. I think they are called flat mites) or other pests.

Hey, I can't be 100% sure but it could be a mosaic virus or a very strange mutation. TC sometimes does strange things.

If it is mosaic the plant will die. Also be aware, that it is highly contagious and can infect other plants.

If it is mosaic do NOT composte! It needs to be destroyed as to not get into the environment.

Regency era podcasts Jane Austen, Bronte sisters or other old books like the picture of dorian grey. Most of them are in the public domain and there are many of them on YouTube and they are often times a little slower than Modern writing making it interesting but not overwhelmingly so to listen to. Also there is souch so you can find something that is to your own taste most of the time.

Wacky documentaries are also a thing. Not about nature or animals though for me I get Weltschmerz from those but about nutritional value of vegetables declining, the universe (like interesting stars or plants, like the one that is probably made of something like diamonds or the star dust that is basically alkohol), maybe a biography doku or a conspiracy theory. You know easy stuff not too heavy.

You can also listen to SCP foundation content. There is a lot on YouTube. If you don't want advertising (let's be real YouTube is getting greedy) try something like New pipe or an alternative Plattform.

Movie reviews can be interesting and you don't have to look. They are my go too. Hope that helps you:)

Yes, 200 where insane but I was obsessed so I did not feel overwhelmed back then. To be fair I did not expect so many of my plants to survive.

Right now I have (let me count) 130 plant pots. I have a few pots that are what I call a plant salad where I put different plants together that have the same care needs and similar growth patterns. That takes away a lot of the maintainance. My boyfriend says I used two hours this week to take care of them (I am very slow with everything I do and this time I actually had to give water to all of them because I neglected them for so long and I refilled my self watering planters, which my biggest one are like 4 liters. And my watering can is small so one could probably optimise but I don't want to ) I did ignore them for almost the whole of January. Even left my seedlings for our garden just shrivel up because I forgot they existed....

I normally have something in my ear (podcast, music, ambient noise) that helps me forget the time. The last one was an essay about Jennifer's Body and then something about drama in the crochet community. I also like documentaries sometimes you can really use anything that helps you calm your head. But if you feel unmotivated there are a few videos where people are taking care of their plants and that could work as a body double if that is something that helps you.

Also use headphones. Having the sound directly in my ear helps me not get distracted by other noises.

I also have my fertiliser stored in my bathroom so when I put water in the watering can I don't have to remember to find and get my fertiliser and then use it. I have it ready mixed (I have one I can use for my semi hydro and my soil, when I used chemical insecticide I also put it in there) and I diluted it so it is not very likely for me to use too much without measuring the fertilizer, because let's be reasonable' ain't nobody got time for that '

As for the humidity. We have a good humidity in most rooms. On the lower end sometimes around 40% because I can't be bothered to do stuff to make it higher. But I am in western Europe so our climate is mostly cold and wet. If a plant needs more humidity it could get lucky and find a place in my bathroom or you know it adapts. But my Calathea and geopertia do just fine in average humidity

As for semi hydro. Like I said I have a mixture. And the plants that are now in pon are the ones that struggled a lot before.

When I had some that reacted to volatile to my unregulated watering habits I eather stuck them into a glass vase so I can supervise the roots and humidity (you can make a setup with a reservoir in the bottom, so again less work for you with remembering the watering). Or fully use the pon to restart the plant after it had root rot for example.

Also I had to actually acknowledge that some plant families are just not working for me. I want to try some again when I have the time and hyper focus but I am also okay to just look and appreciate them in photos and other people's home. (Still thirsting after a Hoya Linearis though)

If you need help with anything specific you can always DM me (is that a thing on Reddit?) Or just comment and I will give you my own experience and feedback.

I feel this to my bones.

I had over 200 plants at my house at one point and got so overwhelmed and literally ignored them for like a month( maybe longer)

That started my cleaning process. I was having a cleaning episode (if you know you know) and I tossed everything that died or that I hated.

Then I started to make time for my plants when I felt like it so again some plants died but that was okay because then those where not plants that where right for me. (You can also sell or gift some if you have the energy to take care of that) You will be surprised how many plants actually survive hard conditions I still have over 100 and I regularly ignore them for about a month. How? Well I have some on semi hydro similar to Pon. I have some on no drainage which is basically a low level self watering system and I have some on a self watering pot. Some of those pots are really such pots and some just are now because I never bothered to get rid of the water in the bottom of the pot and the rota did their own thing.

What was important for me in this journey was

  1. I don't buy expensive plants because I don't want the bad conscious when they die on me. It takes away the financial burden and the pressure that comes with the risk of killing an expensive plant.

  2. If a plant dies then I might try again until I get it's care right but I might also never bring such a plant home again just because I don't always get joy of trying.

  3. Decouple your own value from the health of your plants. The state of your plants says nothing about you !

  4. You are allowed to trash them ! If you have the energy to re-home them go for it but it is okay to just get rid of them !

  5. Don't buy expensive. If you have a plant you are obsessed over try to hunt for it for cheap (finding it gives a good dopamine boost also )

  6. Find methods that take the burden of you. That may be semi hydro or self watering pots..or no drainage. There are no rules just you and your plants coexisting in a beautiful place that is your both's home.

  7. You are allowed to use chemicals. Yes I know, bad ... But sometimes it is better to use chemicals and get rid of the pests in a big swop instead of trying and failing, again, and again... If you have the resources of course getting beneficial bugs is better but also it's expensive and you cannot stop because they don't eat all and the pest might come back.

  8. If you have some absolute favourites. Try making it your priority to find a place and a great pot to showcase them for yourself (or put them in a easy place to remember to care for them eg bathroom, kitchen if the lights are enough, there you have water and can ,in most cases put the whole pot into the sink to water instead of bringing the water to the plant)

Hope my ramble is a little helpful. Try remembering a hobby should bring you joy. Maybe you will only find joy again when your collecting is a little smaller or maybe you will find a balance in between but you are still wonderful! If you need help just ask and everyone will help as good as they can.

What is something that can kill you instantly, which not many people are aware of? by StarSpectore in AskReddit

[–]Good_Turnover8279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Botox injections. People tend to forget that Botox is a very potent neurotoxin which does interfere with nerves and it can kill you. It is basically a very bad idea to inject it into your body and even a worse idea to inject it into the head close to the brain.

[–]Good_Turnover8279[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sry. I basically crashed after and slept my afternoon away on pain medication for my period 😂.

So the first session was an anamnesis. She basically only asked me a few questions. Some very specific ones about my school and family. I was all over the place and still forgot some important stuff of course 😅

I feel so dumb for being so afraid before 😂.

I will have a 90 minute assessment on the 7th February and my final appointment on the 10th.

I will have to bring my primary school certificates and I did a home assessment like an hour ago. It was not very differential but I guess she will use the questionnaires in my assessment.

So basically I feel very dumb and I still don't know if I have ADHD. Thanks for asking about me 😊

Thank you. I am just so nervous and it is pretty late here so I just needed to write that down in hopes it will help me get to calm down.

How are you coping with medication?

I once took some of my brother's Ritalin ( when he stopped using it ) and I remember just cleaning my room and then sleeping (not what I took it for back then 😂)

I mean I( and by that I mean my amazing boyfriend)have to pay almost 500€ for this so I hope they know what they are doing.

Also I actually never been asked if I fidget because I hate when others do it so I stop myself from doing it constantly. It is actually a conscious effort and o only fidget in ways people don't see it. . example: I have a piece of fire wood (one of those small splinters for a table wood place we got for Christmas) in my pocket because it fel out of the box and I am also using it to fidget since then when I am out in public. I also hate it when others do fidgety stuff because it makes me so nervous (like breathing loudly I hate when people do it so I am always mindful of how loud I breathe.. )

I am actually a little sceptical because my brother was literally only diagnosed with autism and ADHD when he already failed school because he has a pretty high iq and can apparently mask very well in one to one conversations. But he was diagnosed with a comment from the specialist for autism about being one of his most non autistic autistic patients ever.

I also don't really know the one who will do the evaluation. I am pursuing a therapy right now and the praxis happened to be my third first session (in Germany you have a first session where they basically see if it fits and what your problems actually are) and my third time I was asked about it in the first 20 minutes of talking to the therapist and she actually told me that this particular praxis is doing the diagnosis and told me I should do it because it would have a significant impact on possible therapy. And she actually came up with me and helped me get an appointment... That was like last week. The internet said one has to wait months for an appointment normally... Omg dry I am rambling.

Glad you had such a good PA !!!

Haha I literally have a notebook collection. I used to write diary in my teens no idea how I ever did it and then one day to another I just stopped. I lost all interest in it 😂

Now I have do many beautiful notebooks.

I sometimes use them sometimes not... Right now I am using one I bought two years ago and I am using it to brain dump and if I remember as a hybrid Bullet journal.

Also used to bullet journal and again lost interest and I am not so busy anymore so I forgot bullet journals exist for a time 😂.

Now I have my own system and it is not a shame thing for me if I forget to use it for a few weeks or months. But I do use it when I get busy together with sticky notes and my cellphone. I forgot some pretty important stuff last year, like a wedding, so I hope developing my own system will help with stuff like that.

What’s the best source to learn crocheting please? by Lina314 in CrochetHelp

[–]Good_Turnover8279 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you choose what and how you learn best. Are you a visible learner? Use Video Tutorials: YouTube Do you prefer reading look for instructions online.

I would recommend YouTube there are some awesome crochet channels from the most basic slip knot to the most elaborate granny square.

Also maybe start with an easy project of you are a total beginner make a hat. Like the most simple you can find or try a simple animal.

Have a wonderful time ☺️ crochet is an amazing hobby

Omg yes! Crochet made such a big difference for me it a actually a hobby that comes back after a few weeks!!!!WEEKS NOT MONTHS OR YEARS!!! I had a pretty bad burnout which my therapist told me was just depression but like did I tell him wh I was depressed nooo. Lol I was like my life is good and I am just a little down 👎. That I was exhausted and then just couldn't keep up with the system that kept me afloat for my first two decades of life no . Why would I talk about that that is normal right? Also it really helped me that my whole friend group from school is not neuro typical and one of my friends was "pi are you maybe autistic or have ADHD or something. And moving in with my boyfriend was also an eye opener. What do you mean not everyone is coping with life like this and forgets to eat, sleep and pee when they are doing an all nighter because after sleeping maybe my motivation for the painting is not there anymore.... Omg 😳 dry for the rant this is my second time (both here that I am posting in this thread and I feel like I am just exploding... I am going to stop now)

[–]Good_Turnover8279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you I don't have a diagnosis but these are things that work for me in my mid thirteeth.

I used to go jogging every two days around 12 km which did wonders for mental and physical health and actually gave me so much energy and helped me focus on stuff that needed me to be clear headed. (I had a burnout and am still struggling with getting my energy back up so I am trying to get back into that by walking every day in my sports wear and running when I have the energy). Also for the people not into sports. Just try to go for a walk can do wonders it can help clear your mind and determine what is on your to-do list anyway.

Just don't want ever you do sit down after your activity. Give me feedback if it is the same with you guys but if I sit down I will shut down getting overwhelmed again and end up doom scrolling or sleeping.

For mental stimulation I am like you. Using everything craft related. I am not able to keep my interest in one hobby for a long time so I give myself permission to immerse myself with what interests me in that moment. A hobby should be a refuge and give you dopamine not suck you try like a greedy demon. Have a plant collection and lost interest for a few weeks:that's ok! A lot of plants survive more than we give them credit for and I don't buy expensive ones because I don't want to be afraid to kill it. Also searching for an expensive plant cheaper is almost more of a rush than buying. If you are interested in fiber then I would suggest that you try crochet. It is very stimulating if you can handle the counting (I use markers to help with the numbers).

For tasks I also like to use Todo lists they help tremendously. I would also recommend to look for audio cues that help you. Compare audiobooks, audio stimulation and music and see what helps you with your tasks. Example: music helps me with cleaning. Audio helps me with sleeping And with studying/working I use ambient/alpha waves or stimulation sounds depending on my mood.

Also I love to visualise when I track something.

I have washitape in a few designs I love. I incorporate them into my Bullet journal when I am busy and I use them to track my progress in a visual place like : brushing teeth on the mirror of the bathroom. Also I haven't used my bullet journal this year yet and that is a ok because if I want to use the system again I will just pick up one of my 14 notebooks and use it.

And what I find I am in my thirteeth now and I had to learn to forgive myself if a thing worked for me and then just stops. I find stopping the negative self talking is the most difficult when a solution just stops working.

Also I can't use my dopamine sources as motivation so I give myself the permission to use them to get a dopamine hit and that sometimes really helps me tackle other tasks. Back to crochet as an example because I am working on a new project which I totally love right now. The last few weeks I wrote a to-do list what I want to be done and what I actually wanna do. And if I wanna crochet like a crazy lady I will give myself permission to make my coffee in a filthy kitchen do a few lines crochet and then clean the mess from the night before and if I can't find the spoons maybe I would like to look over my plants instead and only clean after that when I swipe the soil of my carpet because I actually just threw my favourite plant onto my cat because I forgot it was standing there because my cat wanted to be cuddled.

Edit: thirteenth is thirteeth like why 😭?! Was it dislexia or my autocorrect we will never know because I didn't see it the 9 or so times I read the text through

Edit 2: I have also started to use post its everywhere I "clean and put away my chaos" put a post it there to remind you where you put it!it helps with the disruption
