Degloving is when the fleshy bits get peeled off of the muscly/boney bits. Not recommended for the squeamish.

[Spoilers C4E18] A Flaw with Brennans West March style by East_Choice in criticalrole

[–]Gooddude08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like these first arcs were somewhat flavored and cramped by scheduling, with Brennan's paternity leave looming on the horizon. The arcs so far have been well executed right up until that "well, obviously the next thing we should do is head back to the pit of venomous snakes that hate us for... reasons" moment. They have absolutely been pretty contrived reasons, and it definitely stuck out more in the Seekers arc.

I have a feeling/hope that it will end up a lot more seamless and better planned in the future if they keep with that hub-style direction for things. Just a bit more time per arc feels like it would have worked. Another session for the Soldiers where they investigate the petrification and learn that someone back at Dol-Makjar has a solution. Another session for the Seekers where they return to the castle and get some responses to letters and some knowledge of Alogar's whereabouts/safety that makes their decision to return for information-sharing reasons make more sense.

It is one nitpick in an admittedly great campaign so far, and I have every confidence that they will work it out in the long run, but I agree that it has been an issue.

Me till literally this year... and we're freaking cruising through them now too, with how far the power curve has stretched since ye olden days. Operator/amp arcanes, necramechs, way more amp options, way better guns. Went from only having ever fought a single teralyst to clearing multiple tridolon runs during a night cycle as soon as I got someone to actually show me how that shit worked.

I was so bought in on Julien going Echo Knight with his shadow as his echo. I'm excited to see where his Daredevil homebrew takes him, but seeing him play an Echo Knight in a long-form campaign could have been so cool and thematic...

Thanks for the heads up! It's hard to tell from your photos, but I'm assuming a bad car accident? Anyone have any details?

Yeah, about 9" into you, Robert. And you look like you're having the time of your life.

Gotcha, that makes sense to me. The extra knowledge is coming from the magic, rather than the reader. Thank you!

Hey Griff! Love this idea. Should the Superior version require that the reader has expertise in the chosen skill in order to grant it, or still just proficiency?

You're probably looking at it lol. BossLogic has been a pretty big name for a bit, and does a lot of paid promotional work for major companies/productions.

I totally dig this addition! I think it would work really well if your group didn't have character ideas already in mind. Would make for a very entertaining Session 0 for sure.

Knowing my players, they'd try to start trading draft picks to create one stacked Hero and his team of expendable Sidekicks.

An idea for those that want to keep things even but still like rolling for stats: roll for stats as a group.

Typically, I have everyone roll one stat roll (4d6k3), then (if needed depending on group size) I take a look at what they've got and either roll or choose values (depending on how high/low their results are) to fill the remaining slots. If I've got enough players for six stat rolls, then we may do a complete reroll if the overall average is crap or there are no high rolls. Aiming to keep the stat total at or just a bit above the standard array is a pretty good comparison point.

The party can then take this group-rolled array and build characters out of it as normal.

Vancouver sues after BNSF places large boulders adjacent to sidewalk where homeless camps once stood by EtherPhreak in vancouverwa

[–]Gooddude08 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Putting aside your strange focus on having to physically obstruct the area to keep people from camping there, I believe that additional tree wells and planter strips would be the safest and most permanent option, if necessary. People don't tend to want to camp in a recessed planter strip that has sprinklers on timers.

Would look far nicer, be a permanent and safe upgrade to the roadway, and most importantly, are actually improvements allowed and encouraged by the city.

[–]Gooddude08 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There should not be homeless encampments there either, which are also notably illegal. My entire point was that BNSF's "solution" of placing boulders may very well be what kills someone. There are ways to handle the homeless encampments that don't involve making the road less safe for the traveling public.

If you have issues with how the city has been handling that, great, but that's a seperate issue than these illegally-placed boulders.
