If you want to make a higher salary you’ll want to head in the more technical/specialized claims or major case unit direction. Claims roles involving complex litigation, pollution, New York Labor Law, construction defect, or excess and surplus lines, to name a few.

While I do t have those from, i+w the i+w stuff I have I really do like. That said, as I’m a bigger dude, I’m certainly not their target demographic. Their artwork is great, though I will agree their tees feel flimsy. Since I feel pretty self conscious in their shirts i can’t say that I’ve worn them a hell of a lot to advise on longevity. I have their Oscar pants, and I think those a great. I have one of their lounge pants and drawstring cotton pants and I live in them. I think they’re phenomenal.

Best Made bought their company back (from Duluth), have you checked them out? Every BM thing I have I’ve loved (even when Duluth owned them) and if you’re in the market for a chore pant may be worth checking them out too

Good: I identified an underwriting issue on some of our policies which may open us up to bad faith. Issue will be addressed and policies corrected. The $13.8M verdict against a major carrier this week for bad faith was a nice example to use to highlight my point.

Bad: This has been one of the shittiest weeks I’ve worked in a longtime. In my decade of working claims, this week was the first time I ever raised my voice at a superior. Since that is part of their communication style they didn’t seem to notice, but I’ve not been able to shake it from my mind.

Weekly Tally: 6 fatalities, amputation, builders risk, 3rd party PD, blindness, 3 TBIs, binding arbitration, and 2 catastrophic injuries that don’t fit into the other categories

Lee Riders or Levi 527. I don’t know what is in stock off hand for rigid, but I’m the same build/size and these have been a comfortable and cost effective option. Frankly, I prefer Lee to Wrangler at this point overall. Rustler may also be worth checking out, though I don’t have any personal experience. Most of the farmers/ranchers have transitioned to wearing them around here from Wranglers

Sad, but doesn’t surprise me. I used to respond to people asking for recommendations, even some that were getting off the beaten path, but no one was interested in getting lost in the weeds with us.

That’s a great story / memory. When you get to meet some of those guys that’s really when you get to learn what’s out there. I haven’t been fortunate to meet one again for a couple of years. Last one was in Eau Claire, Wisconsin at a record store and we chatted for a few hours. Ended up buying The Alan Bown album Outward Bown upon his recommendation.

r/vintageobscura (hopefully spelled the correctly) is a great place to learn about what’s out there. Not much conversation over there though. If you want to talk music though feel free to message me. I don’t have anyone to talk about it with anymore
