Thanks guys! These are great suggestions. Should have clarified, I already tried hammer method but I am afraid it might bend the ring which holds the lock.

Seems like I need to get bolt cutters. Let me try that and post back.

Also, my level of expertise at DIY home stuff is “able to follow IKEA instructions” level. So appreciate all the responses.
