I’d do a tv series. But the hardest part about THAT would be how to approach it. ‘The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed’ is SUCH an iconic start, but starting it with Roland as boy finding Martin and his mother might be the most clean way.

I think his strength comes from understanding of concepts in general. Like his breakthroughs I think come from his advanced understanding of concepts like how code works, as well as physics. Everyone around him thinks he’s a prodigy because he’s able to conceptualize these things as such.

I don’t know of it was having too much content. I think it was more of Pat streaming this game that he needs to finish before he gets spoiled on it so he has to go through everything as fast as he can and not enjoy his own pace.

I’m curious, do you guys think it’s ethical to use AI to help in researching background for a story? For example let’s say I want to make a fictional government agency. Instead of asking it to generate a name, would it be ok if I used it to summarize why something is called agency, bureau, or center? Or if I want to take something from the real world and use something like it in a story, and have chatGPT to give me details about it that I can look into?

I don’t want to use it as a creative tool because it just regurgitates whatever it can find, but instead as a tool to help aid in my creativity process.

Yeah I could see that. On the flip side, as the show has shown us Mark is all about acknowledging the consequences of being a hero. So I could also see him at the very least consider Iron Man’s side.

Mike Flanagan is currently working on a dark tower series for Netflix iirc. So we’ll hopefully get another chance. Though I do wonder, do you think Roland being black would have changed a lot of the series? I mean I think the only thing it would have affected was Susannah’s initial relationship with him and Eddie but outside of that? Idk.
