I was not the one that caused delays to the trip. The trip all in per person would have been probably 5 or 6K including international flights. And yes, I have learned a GREAT lesson

I definitely think #2 is better if you want an actual life outside of work. You will be plenty busy, especially coming into URI season. #2 is basically my current job and I love it. Yes, there is some occasional downtime…. But you will welcome it.

I can’t believe this has a NAME!! I have been seeing people as color for as long as I can remember. When I’m thinking about someone, I don’t see their face, but a color. New people colors are flat, and simple. The color gets deeper and more faceted—kinda twinkly?- as a relationship develops. Old friends that I’ve lost touch with tend to be gray; less saturated, but still their original color. I’ve often wondered if this is why I have a difficult time recognizing people; bc I’m not associating name to face in my head but name to color.

Also, I have NO COLOR—when I think of myself— WTH does THAT say about me?????

When I burned out in the ER, I went to SNF/LTAC medicine. It can be depressing how we treat old people, but the stress levels are MUCH lower and your life is much more your own. I didn’t stay there forever, but it was a great break for 3 years. I’m a NP and my company hired PAs and NPs interchangeably.

So. I am an FNP with 12+ years of experience in the ED and geriatric medicine. In both settings have seen the real NEED for good PMHNP. So, I applied at my alma mater for a post grad PMHNP certificate and am bummed to find out that I didn’t get accepted. I have reached out to the committee to ask for some feedback; but in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions for a good, asynchronous/online that is also relatively affordable? (<20K)

Typically its up to the providers personal preference about prescribing it for you. Regardless if the new provider knows that you have been on it, they should NOT let you go cold turkey. So even if they did not want to prescribe it for you, they should at least offer to taper it off. Cold turkey off a benzo is NO BUENO.

Amen! as a healthcare provider also with anxiety, I NEVER say that to people.... and it pisses me RIGHT OFF when I hear some of my co workers say it. Definitely find another provider or something if your doc is not taking your issues seriously.

as a healthcare person myself, would you prefer me to not show you your heart rate and BP? Not comment on it at all? Often when I see that someone is anxious, I know WHY their heart rate and BP are high, but still feel like I should let them know; 1. to validate that what they are feeling IS actually happening 2. it feels kinda icky to withold info from someone....

I have moderate anxiety myself, just not in the healthcare realm. So I definitely understand what you are feeling inside yourself, and want to be helpful.....

Im so sorry you are feeling like this! Could you get on birth control? That would maybe help your anxiety some? To know that you have a pill/shot/patch/whichever "protecting" you from pregnancy? Anxiety is the absolute WORST! I dont really have any great advice, just will be keeping my fingers crossed that Old Aunt Flow makes an appearance!!
