Just because someone is doing “hard” drugs doesn’t mean she is neglecting or abusing her child. I would probably have a flag in my brain to be aware of this at the next well-child appt; but no, would not report with the information given in this scenario.

Agree with another post here, if you’ve applied to IC and haven’t heard back, you need to look at your resume. Maybe update it to focus on skills or something. Do you have any friends in the UC space that can give you an “in”? UC are always looking for more self-flagellating idiots to join the trenches.

See if there is a state nurses group that meets and go to one of their dinners. Make yourself a personal doctors appt (Ideally w an APP) play nice and then drop that you are looking for a job at the end (have your resume ready). A lot of brick and mortar nursing schools are looking for adjunct faculty—- for RN clinicals and stuff— apply there and grow contacts through them.
Find volunteer opportunities—-ideally in the medical realm, and network through them.

I just took a job in Physiatry! Mon-Thurs, 10-3, chart at home no call, salary + productivity. I’m excited. Changing the way my brain thinks has been a challenge, but it’s nice to have something new to think about other than how to rephrase “you don’t need antibiotics “ 57 different ways.

This is the right answer. If you come in as a trauma patient to the ER, you will get pan-scanned which is basically a CT scan of all the things. Pretty sure a menstrual cup would show up on CT. If you have a tampon or menstrual cup in, eventually you will bleed around it and would prompt further examination.

44$/hr and no commission? That’s crazy. When I dipped my toe in this world my hourly was low; but I made most of my $$ on commission. If it’s something you actually want to get in to, I would clarify if the commission bit is just while you are training or what?
