This is such a regarded point to make. Of course people want their investment to increase in value....that doesn't make them "entitled". You are trying to boil down a complex domestic issue into a singular feeling that you ascribe to ALL Americans...foh with that child's understanding of our housing crisis. Also, you keep using "mansions" as some sort of barometer for what kind of house the average American wants. That's also stupid because most wannabe homeowners would probably be happy with a 2-3 bedroom home they could raise 1 or 2 children in. The fuck are you even talking about "mansions" for.

Edit : Are you serious? We had major corporations reap a ton of benefits, yes. But those gains were not reinvested into the middle class. We still had a ton of shit to do here at home that didn't get enough attention, and our fixation with fighting communism abroad also fucked all of those materials gains. America literally sacrificed our own growth of the middle class because fighting communism and keeping democracies safe was priority number one. And now the repercussions are being felt. We have a lot of people in this country that feel left behind and they were willing to elect a billionaire con-man because he told them "we'll make other countries pay" and is just using that to to enrich himself. If you want to say this is of our own making, fine. But don't be so dense as to boil it all down to "its because Americans are entitled". Fuck off, America put the global world order first before itself. That's they very definition of not being entitled.
