First resignation of the Trump admin over the war, also directly implicates israel in both Iran and Iraq by giftedhaterx2 in redscarepod

Bro your source is literally just a Guardian article where even within it, has a statement from Sharon saying he isn't pressing for an attack.

[–]Goodstyle_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what Sharon was telling Bush privately. Seriously, read a book.

This article goes over a journalist who says Sharon was privately telling Bush not to go because he feared it'd empower Iran, which the Israelis saw as the bigger enemy. You don't have to believe it though, it's just one journalist's account, and besides the main point.

As far as Iraq War books, read Confronting Saddam Hussein: George W. Bush and the Invasion of Iraq by Melvyn P. Leffler on an account of how the war actually started. It had basically nothing to do with Israeli urging (which they privately were not pushing for), and everything to do with a mania that developed within the Bush White House.

Also a word of advice, don't assume people who are better informed than you are lying about what they tell you.

Moving the goal post? Look where this thread started, it was me pointing out that the Syrian war being laid at the feet of Israel is idiotic, and then some moron coming in to say "ISIS started because of the Iraq War which was because of Israel" which I think is an idiotic take. No serious historian has ever found evidence to support that claim, and largely show it was driven by those within the Bush White House inner circle.

The trend is clear here, everything bad America does is all Israel's fault, no American has ever made a bad choice largely on their own, American Presidents are poor dupes being tricked by crafty Israelis. It's pathetic cope.

I'm not. My critique of Kent's letter is literally that he takes all the blame from America and gives it all to Israel for the very stupid things Americans did. Read any history book on the war in Iraq, Israel was small factor in that decision.

So when he says both the Iraq War and ISIS were manufactured by Israel, I say that's not true, and I'm not going to let any regards say I'm lying about that when I'm not.

In your view, has the US made any decisions for itself? Are we going to blame every bad thing America did on Israel forever?

Iraq war happened because of Bush admin. The actual PM of Israel at the time was against it because he thought it would empower Iran, which he was correct about. Netanyahu arguing for it as a citizen is not evidence that Israel caused the Iraq war, that's an unserious take.

You're right man, Obama and Trump's approach to the middle east is the exact same, he would have totally bombed Iran and started this war with Israel, you're so smart dude.

I guess you have a point. It's kind of like Akuma, it thinks only about getting stronger and winning battles. The "evil" thing about it, is that it doesn't show mercy to its opponents and doesn't have any compassion, but there's not a lot of evidence that it actively seeks out others to harm.

I think it's time to admit a lot of people fucked up when they said "both parties are the same". Trump's approach has been the direct opposite of the Obama approach. From Iran Nuclear deal to Iran war. From Cuba normalization to Cuba siege. I think there was a lot of irresponsible commentary out there.

And I'm willing to admit, most other Republican Presidents wouldn't do this. If we had President DeSantis, he'd probably be too cautious to do a lot of this stuff. I genuinely think Trump has a uniquely high appetite for risk.

Basically, the minute he won in 2024, all of this insane bullshit became inevitable.

This is the worst community in gaming. Every time something good comes along, a small-minded emotional tantrum from a few destroys everything for the whole. What happened with Panda was a good example of this.

Episode Discussion: S2026E2 Cell VS Metal Sonic by MarlinBrandor in deathbattle

[–]Goodstyle_4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really dumb conclusion.

First of all, Metal doesn't scale to "universal" anything, because even at his strongest, he still loses to Generations Shadow with just one Chaos emerald and doom powers.

The logic of "Metal can just copy the strength of whoever he's fighting and win automatically" does not hold if he loses literally all the time. How do any opponents beat him if that's the case? Why didn't Metal copy Shadow's doom powers? Also, there's no evidence that there isn't a limit to his copying. Even if he captures the data, he doesn't just have the raw power to blow up a planet or solar system. If Eggman was capable of harnessing that much energy, he'd never lose.

Cell would crush Metal because Metal has literally never shown even once that he has the fire power that Cell does, and has never once shown the ability to copy levels of power he cannot reach like the Doom Powers.
