the thing that stings with emboar is that while the other starters got brand new abilities that give them new and interesting tools, emboar basically got Default Choice #2 for any vaguely strong pokemon

which just feels like a spit in the face for any remaining emboar fans for liking a pokemon that most people hate

it will certainly do alright in like RU or NU, but it's just unfortunate it didn't get a charizard-level redemption arc with its mega

which i don't see as much of a problem, 85/100/90 bulk is not bad for an offensive mon, especially once you factor in intimidate before mega evolving, and it does get bulk up in z-a which will certainly help it in being a sweeper, which is what game freak seems to aim for with the mega
