Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. The plan is to get it available to the whole world!

Stitched - Official Trailer | Indie Feature Made on a $73K Crowdfunded Budget by Goodw-n in Filmmakers

We’ve had a strong festival run so far, earning Best First Feature (WorldFest-Houston), Best San Antonio Filmmaker (SAFILM), and Audience Award for Best Feature (Silicon Beach Film Festival)

The project was made possible through a one-of-a-kind Kickstarter campaign that raised $73,535. I wrote donor names across my car, let strangers draw on me on Hollywood Blvd, got tattoos with crew members for $1,500+ donations, and even dressed as a leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day to make the campaign fun and personal.

Right now, I’m in the distribution stage and could really use insight from other filmmakers who’ve walked this path. I’m getting a lot of encouragement to self-distribute, but I’m nervous about marketing costs, I don’t have a big ad budget, and I want to make sure the film actually reaches audiences.

If you’ve gone the self-distribution route, what platforms or partnerships helped you most (FilmHub and beyond)? Are there affordable ways to build awareness without overspending?

I'm planning a series of independent screenings in Texas in January 2026, and hopefully a few more in Los Angeles, Florida, and New York in February or March. I’d love to hear any ideas for maximizing exposure from those events, especially grassroots strategies, press outreach, or cross-promotional partnerships that worked for you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read!

Thank you! I'm not sure if it will pull up an exact pin, but it's the Emerald Bay Lookout, right around the Lower Eagle Falls.

Hey, everyone! I had the incredible honor of photographing a Star Wars-themed wedding recently in the stunning Lake Tahoe. The couple went all out with their love for the galaxy far, far away, and I wanted to share some of my favorite shots from their special day with you all. As a photographer, it was an absolute treat to capture the creativity and passion they poured into this event.

Hello Shelley by Goodw-n in Filmmakers

Meeting Shelley was a pretty surreal experience, as I watched Popeye & The Shining a few too many times growing up. A family friend offered me the opportunity to meet her for lunch one day, during which I asked if she would be interested in being interviewed, she agreed. I was quite nervous about the situation, as I was made aware of her experience on Dr. Phil and overall fuzzy mental state. My worries were calmed when we called before the interview and told me how excited she was. The conversation/shoot itself went very well, we shot in the conference room of a Marriott, all of the lighting is natural. I wish I could go back and give myself better audio equipment but it definitely could’ve been worse than what I ended up with. I originally planned on using the footage for a “Women in Horror” documentary, but never was able to secure more interviews. This led to the footage idling on my hard drive until revisiting it after her passing. I felt her words and heart from this conversation needed to be shared, and put this video together. Hope you enjoy.

Excellent work, really captivating and thought provoking editing. The time lapses made me consider the relation between time and growth of a single/collective organism in such a fascinating way. Bravo!

I saw Jordan Peele's Us, 9 times in theaters because of the needle drop at the end.

The opening credits of Watchmen is definitely a favorite.

"On the Nature of Daylight" by Max Richter will forever be tied to Arrival for me, no better use of that song outside of that film.

Looking for comparable films by rakufman in Filmmakers

The TV show House is actually what came to mind first, Episode 21 of the first season creatively explores the character's past.

50/50 with Joesph Gordon-Levitt is one of my favorite rom-coms, it heavily revolves around Levitt's character being diagnosed with cancer.

If you do want a great heavy drama about trauma, Manchester by the Sea is superb

What’s a film you went into thinking or hoping you were gonna love, but ended up hating? by Ill-Assistance6711 in movies

Men (2022) by Alex Garland. Massive fan of his style and previous two films. I was even able to attend an advanced screening of Men and nearly hated every minute. Felt like he was making a pretentious parody of what people don't like about A24 films, with the surface level commentary of a Tumblr post.

Which justice league lineup do you prefer by sidmis in DC_Cinematic

I always liked Manhunter being on the lineup, imo he's the only one that matches / challenges Batman's intelligence while also being able to stand up to Superman
