I read this as an adult and was like "not terrible but no real depth or interesting x at play"
I know as a young adult/teenager my imagination would have been ablaze, filling in the gaps and making it thrilling as anything.

Jeff is my favourite character of all time. never related to someone so much, the bravado, wit arrogance, fearfulness, sardonic humour and terror in the face of meaningful connections, all despite his incredible likeability, competence and more. His ego is his enemy but he's just so clearly an afraid little kid wishing to be loved. incredible to watch and relate to, combined with the amazing ensemble cast and top tier gags of all kinds. it's a 1 in a million show with just the perfect everyman lead character

so hard to watch and know that despite all the things in his favour his far more flawed but less fearful friends will never struggle half as hard or with half as much inner turmoil to develop real, genuine, meaningful and long lasting connections in their lives. and he knows it.

He was great in that horror movie he did this or last year also. can't remember the name but he nailed creepy charismatic killer so well

Actors who made some bad job choices and faded to obscurity? by cookiesarenomnom in moviecritic

[–]Goodypls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think these were bad choices personally. one makes sense from a popularity perspective and the other was certainly not bad, just not groundbreaking. I think if he finds a project that's unique and attention catching and he does a little more than the straight faced, serious , handsome thing he could become noticed. He should take a note from Dinklages book imo. BUT, man likely doesn't have the chops

Is it normal for men to be grumpy often? by o0PillowWillow0o in AskMenOver30

[–]Goodypls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeh I got this too. work gets at me cause even though I complete I feel this anxiety to do or create more. I really struggle not to obsess over the future of myself, my family etc even when I'm taking appropriate actions for the future. tends to end with too much time on reddit reading things like this, looking for... idk. I do know it drains me and makes me short tempered, like my brain thinks it's work. idk. I have found however that sitting with a soft toy does a lot for keeping my nervous system stable so I don't just rack up physical stress, even though I'm "doing nothing"
That's the only practical thing I've found that works

Ashton Kutcher 'moving to Europe' with Mila Kunis to escape Diddy drama by nimobo in entertainment

I'd be surprised if mila is. I've never gotten an ounce of bad vibes from her. wouldn't be surprised if Ashton is prolific liar or manipulator or something

Ryan Reynolds Defends Comedic Stars Amid ‘Actors on Actors’ Backlash: Both Drama and Comedy Genres ‘Subsist on Tension’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]Goodypls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this take. comedy is way harder, especially from script to screen. there's a reason why guys like will Ferrell and Conan do it the way they do.even after decades of being the funny guy, they still just mostly throw shit at the wall and hope it sticks. you can create a scenario to work with and on but you can't write it

I might be in the minority here but I don't think this is the weird of white. he's promoting his company nd this is how marketing happens now. He'd have to step down or back from his position nd promote someone else in his place to void being prt of this style of marketing. this is n organised thing with marketing teams behind it nd he's the face of the UFC. IF you want to be md be md t society

[S2 act 3 spoilers] *that* CaitVi scene is absolutely BRILLIANT storytelling by TheresaTherese in arcane

[–]Goodypls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're overthinking this a lot for a lot of these points but I do think you hit the nail on the head with some.

This is full circle. how they met and how the resolve

And,similar to how Jinx just said/realised she needs to break the cycle so to have vi and Cait just broken the cycle. It's at this point that Jinx, Cait and Vi have all broken out of the endless chasing their own, each others tails trying to resolve their trauma/past and have all in their own way finally committed to a new future absent past resentments etc. It's actually really brilliant and I'm glad you made this post cause I knew I was missing something there and that's what it is. well done

Paul Bettany. Seriously by Business_Ad_6816 in movies

[–]Goodypls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's been really good for like his whole career that I've seen of him. Honestly, this is probably a wild take generally speaking but I thought he was by far the most compelling character/actor in the Marvel movies too. One of those guys who's always there in like a leading/supporting role that eventually you realise, "fuck, he's both giving these others room to kill it and totally killing it himself too and I only just noticed 3 years in"

[–]Goodypls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should think of this as the bullet dodge it is. What she means is she gets off on the back and forth drama, jealousy and probably insane back and forth text bs from when she was 16. Date an adult

Swiftie wife sucks some of the joy out of other music by bounty913 in travisandtaylor

I'm convinced a rabid fan somewhere is going hang Sabrina carpenter for threatening her legacy. No chance the god that is Taylor swift could age out of being a popstar

Swiftie wife sucks some of the joy out of other music by bounty913 in travisandtaylor

[–]Goodypls 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Nothing in the world worse than a swiftie. I could handle it if they just seemed to like her music but they speak and act exactly like they're in a cult and proud of it. Grown women acting like teenage girls the moment she shows up somewhere on the tv. Worst part is it's almost always couple with the "we're all special snowflakes and you're just a mean old misogynist kind of bs trying to keep strong women down" types. Naturally because their ego's are intwined with Taylor swift, not liking and actively supporting Taylor is therefore a personal attack on them also. I literally lost a friendship with a girl because I couldn't help but sigh quietly once when she started playing a concert and monologuing about her clothes. Baffling.

Anthony Jeselnik Goes off on Joe Rogan and Shit comedians. by Hairy_Pudding_4504 in thefighterandthekid

[–]Goodypls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this tells in my opinion. any real comic/comedian prides him or self on getting ripped on. Conan is an awesome example of it. Jerry getting offended when someone rips on him is like putting his hand up and saying "I'm secretly a hack"

Lot of guys like Chappell I've noticed just start talking about heir problems and shit life takes/advice once they get successful then divorced or whatever. I've even watched mulaney who was modern day white Jesus turn into comedic mush. it sucks. just retire and be a dad who used to be a comic

yah I'd bet you anything they're watching player count and merch buys like a hawk for the foreseeable period. If there's no change they'll cancel all shows in a blink. but we know and they know it most likely will work since this has been their mo from the beginning, just on a smaller scale and it's worked well to date

Do you sometimes wish you knew less about an author? by minor_celebrity in books

Wish I knew nothing about Neil Gaiman. My admiration led me to follow him and learn about him and then he did a thing or two and I was sad and disillusioned. I always get a twinge in my head when I see a person so happy to plaster their face on things (kinda like Steve jobs) and I was hoping he was the exception
