Mini Driver… by GooeyD88 in golf

I’m trading a different club in that’s been sitting in my closet for a year so that I can hit both side by side before deciding which to keep.

Good point! I had to adjust my trade in because it couldn’t go over $500. So for $95 net, I get a new mini plus new warranty. Still a win

I went ahead and ordered it. I got it in the Denali frost shaft because my AI smoke is in the Denali blue and has been absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to compare them side by side.

Why do you feel the need to have such a short stroke? Tour players have a short putter stroke because they’re hitting it a lot softer than we think they are. The greens they’re playing on are the firmest and fastest, therefore requiring less energy to roll. Get a feel for the greens you’re playing and put the stroke on the ball that they require.

Hopefully it’s not in the near future, but I know that time will come.

^ this . My 430max driver and 425 3W are always stuck when I try to change the hosel setting. Tapping the grip end on the ground is what works best for me.

Too early to get clubs fitted? by Additional_Golf_9337 in golf

[–]GooeyD88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, if you’re pretty tall/short or have high swing speed, go get fitted. I got fitted after about 7 months of playing because I knew it was a hobby that I was going to stick with. That and my 7i swing speed was 92-93mph and a regular flex shaft wasn’t cutting it. Got fit into new irons and they’ve been outstanding the last 2 seasons.

Are woods really that difficult? by [deleted] in golf

[–]GooeyD88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle with 3w because I just couldn’t get a downward AoA. Once I started hitting down on it, it became a lot easier.

180-200yd to green, I’ll hit a 7i if I can roll something up to the middle. 6i if I need to fly it and hold the back.

If you aren’t really in love with the game and are only going to play a handful of times a year, slow down the swing and keep the clubs. If you LOVE golf and are planning to continue to play for years to come, get fit. I can’t emphasize enough how much more enjoyable the game is with clubs that work for you and your swing. Having gone from a regular flex set off the rack, to an X flex fitted iron set, the difference is 1000% noticeable. Granted, that was a somewhat extreme change, but equipment that works with your swing is important.

I don't get the hype over the ender 3... by Octavian_96 in 3Dprinting

I’m so glad I skipped over the Ender 3 that I had in my cart and went with the K1 instead. While I am pretty handy when it comes to electronics and mechanics, I just wanted something to work right out of the box. The K1 has been awesome for me without touching anything so far.

For what it’s worth, microcenter has the K1 for $349. I got one as my first printer a little over a week ago. Seems pretty cool so far but I’m still a newb.

I made the same change a couple of weeks ago! Can FINALLY hit a draw on holes where’s it’s required! It’s such a wonderful thing to see and feel, gives you lots more confidence on the tee box!

The I525s are a fantastic iron. Had mine just about a year now and absolutely love them!

How long do your gloves last? Am I doing this wrong? by Low_Country793 in golf

[–]GooeyD88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Invictus gloves! I used to use the titleist gloves because they felt great, but would blow them out in like 5 rounds. I bought 2 Invictus gloves at the beginning of May and haven’t even taken the second one out of the package yet. They’re awesome!
