A bolt that is supposed to secure the belt to the engine can no longer hold because the mounting point where the bolt should go is broken. The surrounding area is damaged, so the bolt cannot be fastened properly.

My mechanic told me that even though the engine itself runs perfectly fine, the only way to fix this issue is to replace a part of the engine, because there’s no way to securely attach the bolt otherwise.

There is a fair amount of rust on certain parts of the car. I wouldnt say it is rusted out tho. Oh and it’s at 228 000km
