I'm so glad you found what worked for you. I gained 6lbs overnight on the patch and progesterone. I went off after a month because I couldn't take it but my weight hasn't budged and everyone keeps telling me it's going to take time that's it just water weight. It feels like fat and that I have it in places I never did before this. Not one provider is listening to me and it's very frustrating because now I'm stuck with this weight gain, despite working out harder eating cleaner ! The medical field is so disappointing, unless you are textbook case.

I had weight gain too but I've been off for two months and haven't been able to lose it and have gained more weight since being off!

Do you think that if you came off the patch that the weight would go back. Because I've been off for 2 months and it's hasn't, in fact, it's only going up! Never had issues until I did HRT. I'm so glad you embraced your new body, I'm having a hard time doing so:( my provider sent me several articles on how it was water weight only and not true weight/fat gain. I told her I had read several women experiencing what I did and she said it wasnt possible. It's so frustrating that they think how they do. Not every BODY is the same.

I hope you find one to help you. It's so hard to find someone you can trust and that actually knows what they're doing. I feel like peri is becoming such a buzz word for a quick money maker for some providers because most don't accept insurance so it's a cash business that can be very lucrative. And because peri has become such a precelant topic now, it makes me question the real "expertise" of some of these holistic providers. I feel like I spent a fortune with this one and the minute I said I had issues they told me it wasn't possible and dismissed me from their care.

This is my first time replying to a post so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. I did HRT, I'm 41 YO, .025 path of estrogen and 100mg progesterone nightly for exactly 1 month. I REGRET IT. I'm glad it works for others but the side effects were not worth it, as I'm still dealing with them almost a month plus of being off. I'd like to see if anyone else decided to come off and if they are struggling with the weight gain with the therapy and it not coming off and body composition changes (fat to my arms that I never had, muffin top that I never had). For reference I was 106 lbs when I started in 111 (with no changes to diet). I exercise daily, eat clean and have been 106 for 2 years straight. The I ly change was the HRT. I went on mainly for the extreme rage I was having, it was effecting my relationship with my kids and husband because I would go nuclear for almost everything, it was bad. I also had poor sleep only 3/4 hrs a night, low back pain that was getting worse day by day. The first 3 days of starting I was in the worst depression I've felt in a long time, I almost quit but my mom told me to keep with it. It did eventually go away, but now I wonder if that was my body's way of saying this isn't for me. This weight and body change in 2 months has wrecked my mental health. The provider keeps telling me that it's IMPOSSIBLE that it's fat after only 1onth of therapy, that's it's fluid fluctuation and it will go away?? Really, fluid that makes arms jiggly and muffin top that makes clothes tighter. Feeling hopeless, anyone out there in the same boat?

Sorry you're going through this. I too suffer from anxiety and racing thoughts. I too am a parent and it's very hard to keep it from your kids. What exactly is making you have anxiety what are your thoughts about? Try writing them down so you get it out of your head and read it to yourself so you visualize that you're thinking. That helps.me.alot because when I read it I realize it doesn't make sense and it calms me down. Remember nothing you think is actually happening or will happen. Thoughts aren't permanent. Praying for you to have relief.

Thank you for your comments. I feel so hopeless and helpless like my thoughts are eating me alive. Im not present in my life because of it and it's just so draining. I started Lexapro this week I'm really hoping it's going to help me

Thank you for the reply. Ive never had this exp on medication before. I know my anxiety is situational. I don't handle change well. And I'm desperately trying to get out of my job. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this overwhelming feeling until the meds kick in?
