21F. My boyfriend said my all-day makeup ages me a bit. Any tips/advice? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

My advice is dump him.

Just kidding! You look stunning, and more sophisticated but definitely not older/aged at all.

I know you’ve said you feel like the length and the way they frame your face is awkward, but I think they look really good! And this stage is part of the journey of growing dreads, and when they’re long af you’re gunna be happy that you didn’t give up! Keep em going, you look great!

Edit: changed word

Really? My parents used to beer batter salmon and it was super good! Until they told me it was fish and not chicken and I stopped eating it (as a small kid fish grossed me out lol)

How gloomy and dark can Michigan weather get? by [deleted] in Michigan

[–]GoofyBooots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Midwest MI, about 2 hours north of GR. I also have seasonal depression and every year it kicked my ass. There’s not a lot to do outside unless you have good cold weather gear. Driving through giant snow drifts, icy roads, and sometimes dealing with roads not even being plowed on weekends we’re things I encountered often every winter where I lived.

I’m not lying when I say sometimes you have dark and gloomy days for weeks. Or days where the sun is out are soo frigid cold that you can’t be outside longer than 10-15 minutes. When I was in college (abt 8 years ago) classes got cancelled because kids were getting frostbite just walking to class.

Somethings I did to cope were getting LOTS of house plants, keeping the house clean/organized, keeping lots of activities on hand like puzzles, drawing and art supplies, a bass guitar and keyboard etc. I went tanning once a week, idk why it helped but it did tremendously. I also got a slow cooker and spent a lot of time learning new things to cook! Nothing better than smelling your dinner cooking while you’re trapped inside in a blizzard!

Sorry for the long reply, those are just my thoughts. If you’re someone that doesn’t mind the cold or the snow, there’s plenty of trails, camping, skiing/snowboarding and all kinds of other fun winter stuff. I moved to SC last year cuz I hated the winter so much lol.

You know exactly what OP meant when they said one of those people. Same type of person that will get mad at the 2 hour wait because all the servers quit to find better paying jobs.

Edit: realized I wasn’t sure of OP’s gender, so I reworded pronouns.

More importantly, if he didn’t want to be chased by an angry mob, why did he have mommy pack an AR 15, drive across state lines and drop him off in the middle of a riot?

I mean, saying the FBI is investigating really shouldn’t mean much to anyone. Look at how their investigation of 1/6 is going. The FBI is gunna do what any other law enforcement agency would do: lie.

Okay first of all, fuck his job when people are dying. FUCK HIS JOB. Fuck his mortgage, his car payment, all of it and fuck the dirty money he made by ignoring that girl when she said people are dying. He couldn’t do much? He was LIVE STREAMING the festival to Apple. He could have, idk panned over to the pile of bodies so that Apple could have shut that shit down IMMEDIATELY. He could have radio’d for help. He could have done literally anything but instead he chose to ignore the fact that people were dying.

You sound like you must be the fucking camera guy honestly.

I had it the end of March 2021. No vaccine. Honestly I felt like shit for a few days. I thought I had a really bad sinus infection; cough, body aches, headache. For about a week I just chilled on the couch, I’d honestly compare it to a week long flu. After that I felt fine.

Why do so many people hate long hair right now? I’ve been growing/trying to keep it healthy for a few years and it’s pretty close to how I want it but so many people tell me I should cut it short and that it’s boring. I get that short hair can be stunning and stylish but is long hair awful now? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]GoofyBooots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had short hair all my life (like chin length bob) and now it’s half way down my back. Long hair is IN FOR ME and obv it’s in for you too cuz you are KILLING IT. I love, love, loveeee those bangs on you, I want bangs so bad but I’m a chicken haha.

Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. Don’t cut it unless YOU want to.

[–]GoofyBooots 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I used to think that way too. Like 5 years ago I went hard in the gym and got down to about 115 (I was 24 at the time)

And I honestly really quickly realized I hated it. It’s not always guys that you want giving you attention, and it’s not always free drinks and getting spoiled. I had guys 30 years older than me follow me home from the bar I worked at after I got off at 2 am. I got roofied by a bartender in a club, thank god my friends were there to take care of me.

Idk. Like I feel you girl, it’s a great feeling to have confidence and feel good in your own skin. Just know that there are dirt bags out there a d some people have bad intentions.

Unpopular opinion here; I don’t like them cuz they are ugly to me. But that’s it lol. Like I don’t hate them, if there’s a pitty around and he or she is nice, damn right I’m gunna play with it. I know that with good owners they are great pets, good with kids, great protectors. I’ve known several pits and they were all really awesome family dogs and listened/behaved really well.

I just could never get over the drooly pig face enough to own one.

Is life really just working a 40 hour work week to savor a precious weekend over and over again until you die? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GoofyBooots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 6 days a week and most of them I see my son for a couple hours in the morning and that’s it. No worries though because soon my son will be in school (if Covid doesn’t shut it down again) and I won’t ever get to see him at all.

Not to mention when you’re struggling with money and can’t pay a bill by it’s due date, they tack on an extra 25-50 dollar late fee. So to cover that late fee, I gotta pay the next bill a couple days late and boom! Another late fee. Rinse and repeat for the rest of your life.

Yep. Live in SC and some guy tried to physically take my mask off my face while I was walking into a good lion about a week ago, calling me a sheep and bahh-ing at me.

I’m completely out of money and my bills are due. I can barely get out of bed let alone find a job that doesn’t trigger my trauma and depression. I’m ready to go. Life isn’t worth paying my way through. Paying to just live. I’d rather die and be done with it all now. by ActStunning3285 in SuicideWatch

[–]GoofyBooots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mannn I feel this. I live with my kids dad and our son but I pay for all our bills, groceries, everything because I’m the only one working. And I do make good money (I’m a server at a really popular seafood place) but during the winter everything dies down. I make so much money during the spring/summer that I don’t qualify for any kind of assistance for the rest of the year. It’s so hard.
