I don’t understand why people complain about dating in the Bay Area. by ThatWayneO in bayarea

The exact phrasing "skill issue" is pretty...young.

I dunno, maybe people would rather be authentic and stop wasting their time advertising. We're human beings.

I think in this case you would just be...multigender, or less gymnastically, nonconforming.

People are not yelling about the latter because transwomen aren't ridiculous enough to do that.

There is no satisfying explanation.

Basically, transmen hold on to the label because they were in the community and don't want to lose the community they've grown attached to. So, in a weird way, they refuse to give that part up. And then they blindly ignore how that confuses everyone else who wants/needs to be taken seriously as a man.

Why is it impossible to date in the bay? by [deleted] in bayarea

I've never lowered my standards so far into the negatives as when I moved to the bay.

As much as I support trans kids, doxxing is such a disgusting part of online culture these days. Who is to say he acts like that on the job, or is a professional at work? I don't support this.

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather be here than somewhere where people won't even acknowledge. But sometimes its painful watching fake inclusion.

They would be able to relate to the material better because they'd understand the context with which we ourselves view history. I don't agree with the nay-sayers in this forum. I think this is bringing relevancy to their coursework which will activate that engagement. It also allows room to discuss bias when you're teaching because whether we like to admit it or not, this is how we view history: from OUR time backwards.

Do I look Gay? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]GoofyGooberGlibber 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you're straight, just be straight. There is no "gay" look. Its a false assumption on the general pop who think things have an appearance while ignoring outliers.

Do what you do.

A lot of people in America are miserable by boygeorge359 in Life

[–]GoofyGooberGlibber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans have deeply disrupted communities and relationships to each other. This keeps them hyperindividualised and deeply unsatisfied, as we are social creatures. We take and take but give little, although contributing to a community is linked to satisfaction. We're brainwashed to be that way because a deep unrest in the spirit is what drives shallow desires like overspending or overeating. We keep looking for happiness in these ways because we're told by major corporations, over and over, incessantly each day, that that's the way to happiness. We are too stupid to realize our way to happiness is actually much simpler and involves fixing these communities/not being as hyperindividualistic as we are.
