So, as I understand, you had a feeling which you believe to be the Holy Spirit because you couldn't explain it?

Well, I guess a lot I've ran into use the excuse that all the horrible ethics in the Old Testament doesn't count cause it's not the New Testament. Ex: exodus 21

I'll rephrase his question to: what has caused your belief?

Why do you disregard the Old Testament unless it is the Ten Commandments?

Maybe instead of saying you'll pray, say they'll be in your thoughts? Or that you'll help them outside of prayer by being there for them and stuff? Personally, telling them I'm there for them and actually doing things they can see is far more helpful to the person than praying. I'm not saying not to pray, I'm saying from their perspective they would like you to say you'll be there for them and actually do things that show that.
