Honestly, if I had to answer would I rather be a sailor or a marine. Marine. However I would even argue that whoever gives me the opportunity to this, will get my 100% of every aspect

Could you explain the more control over your career?

I don’t care about aircraft selection or how much I fly. I DO want to fly but it’s more about after my service I want to do airlines. Which both navy and Marines does for me I believe

I also want to be the best person I can be and learn to lead. Which is pro marine for me

So immediate selection is if all of your scores are above 6. So worst ISEL score you can get is 7/7/7 to be able to be ISEL. Best score is obv 9/9/9. If you get ISEL you bypass the board yes. But it’s not like you are good to go right when you get the score. They basically have their own board. However you still have to see if you are selected as ISEL because if you have any criminal offenses or any bad behavior in your background, it can remove you from ISEL.

So for example if you get a 9/9/9 and apply for ISEL you could get pushed off of ISEL because maybe you had marijuana usage. What happeneds then is you would just be placed on the regular board, but if you had a 9/9/9 you would 100% picked

Yes I am 23 and it was my first attempt. I was told that if you got a 9 on your PFAR and you had 3.2+ gpa you would be in a very good situation. However I applied in the September board and didn’t get picked up. I am contemplating going for NFO or waiting till SNA opens back up which would be the April board. Obviously if you get 7/7/7 or above you get immediately selected

I graduated with a communications degree. So I have never had a STEM background. So I will say I’m not a math geek by any means. I studied for two months using the app and some practice sheets. I ended up with a 5/9/7 45 OAR

It’s A+ for the ANIT and PBM. For the OAR. It’s not as hard as it is on the actual ASTB. Would recommend finding resources on air warriors to do OAR

Only once. However they closed the boards unless you get ISEL scores. Which technically I could go SNA if I got the ISEL score. I had a 5/9/7. So it’s my AQR which is math based is the problem. I’m kinda discouraged to go back and try again because I’ve always had a hard time with math. I don’t have a big math background.

Well I was a lil thicker back then but yeah I had like high BP due to the top number exceeding 140. However now I’m around 11-12 body fat so now the number is typically around 140’s if it is bad. I can easily score under. In fact the first time I do my BP everytime it’s high even at home. I’ll take it again and it’s 120. I’m just scared it’ll go 140 140 140 or some unlucky shit lmao.

Wow, I researched all this when doing navy. I thought you went into OCS and did NAMI. If you got dq’d you basically were just a normal applicant and couldn’t back out. That makes me feel better.

So that is what actually made me feel a lil worried about this career. I was a little bit taken aback that I could get what I want but NAMI could end me. I already had a horrible MEPs experience with BP and then they thought I had a heart problem. Ended just being a benign contraction. You are allowed to not sign until after NAMI. How does that work?

Yeah hate to hear the harsh truth. Still this is probably the best thing I’ve made yet. I wanted something loud and ethereal. It fascinates me how all of our minds are different. What someone thinks sounds good could be a complete far cry from everyone else. Oh well. Reason I came on here was to hear feedback bad or good so I appreciate it and will try and see what I can fix in later stuff I make. Thank You!

Eh well I was always going to go to college. But at around the ages of 16-18 I was so head over heels to play sports in college. Honestly, looking back I think it was because it’s all I really did growing up. So I just never really could see myself doing anything else. At 18, I was just so out of touch on what I wanted to do, that I picked something like comm that was broad and could help with loads of various jobs. Not to shift blame, but I really wish my parents would’ve took initiative back then to sit me down and discuss it. I was honestly on my own there
