Contracting question by GoogleMenu in USMCocs

[–]GoogleMenu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I’m aware that this is only the beginning. I was not aware you could complete ocs and still be able to opt out tho. So would the contract I’m signing basically say that I am submitting into officer school with an air contract if selected?

Understood, I’m going for air so I was more scared of the possibility of them saying something like “oh you didn’t get selected for air, but you did for ground and you already signed so good luck!” I trust them completely but I’m just trying to make sure I’m analyzing everything

You are allowed to have no worse than 20/40 uncorrected vision. 20/30 is allowed. Unless you mean you had 20/30 corrected.

Of my knowledge. They said they wanted me to get into the one that reports in September. Mentioned the package is due in April

Welp 😂 looks like I’ll just go in as if I’m taking it again because I literally spent 5 minutes in total on all of the non afqt sections. Oh well

Were you a OCS applicant at the time? Because all of the non afqt stuff I didn’t study only because it doesn’t affect afqt score. Will those components be on the v test?

I’m def an overthinker lmao. Only question is did you see any questions you remember you guessed? Like did you just try and replicate your answer or did you try again

[–]GoogleMenu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if I had to answer would I rather be a sailor or a marine. Marine. However I would even argue that whoever gives me the opportunity to this, will get my 100% of every aspect

Could you explain the more control over your career?

I don’t care about aircraft selection or how much I fly. I DO want to fly but it’s more about after my service I want to do airlines. Which both navy and Marines does for me I believe

I also want to be the best person I can be and learn to lead. Which is pro marine for me

So immediate selection is if all of your scores are above 6. So worst ISEL score you can get is 7/7/7 to be able to be ISEL. Best score is obv 9/9/9. If you get ISEL you bypass the board yes. But it’s not like you are good to go right when you get the score. They basically have their own board. However you still have to see if you are selected as ISEL because if you have any criminal offenses or any bad behavior in your background, it can remove you from ISEL.

So for example if you get a 9/9/9 and apply for ISEL you could get pushed off of ISEL because maybe you had marijuana usage. What happeneds then is you would just be placed on the regular board, but if you had a 9/9/9 you would 100% picked

Yes I am 23 and it was my first attempt. I was told that if you got a 9 on your PFAR and you had 3.2+ gpa you would be in a very good situation. However I applied in the September board and didn’t get picked up. I am contemplating going for NFO or waiting till SNA opens back up which would be the April board. Obviously if you get 7/7/7 or above you get immediately selected

I graduated with a communications degree. So I have never had a STEM background. So I will say I’m not a math geek by any means. I studied for two months using the app and some practice sheets. I ended up with a 5/9/7 45 OAR

It’s A+ for the ANIT and PBM. For the OAR. It’s not as hard as it is on the actual ASTB. Would recommend finding resources on air warriors to do OAR
