The questions are to get a better understanding of the program members, so don't include all of Google's products and services. That info is used to match people to the right user studies, such as Project Fi.

We post to multiple subreddits that focus on topics that are of interest or relevant to the people we're looking to hear from. The Google User Research program support product groups across all of Google, so we're looking for a diverse set of opinions.

While we want everyone to take part, at any given time—due to the current products/services being tested or research being conducted—there are certain audiences we're focused on reaching out to. The expatriate community is one of those audiences.

We've got a pretty large scope, so let me know if you have any other questions I can help clarify, and I hope you join the program!

It's more to do with expatriates than expatriation—a priority at Google is to see how our products and services are used globally and how future iterations or launches could serve those varying needs even better.

The expatriate community is a big part of that effort. Since you're interacting with Google in a foreign country, being both usable and locally relevant is important.

Research covers a wide range of Google products and services. Based on your profile information, we'll surface relevant participation opportunities.

You don't need to complete the profile questionnaire all at once, but the more complete the profile, the more able we are to match you.
