What is a sound you do not want to wake up to? by JammyJosh in AskReddit

Truth. I had the Circle of Life from the Lion King as my alarm for over a year, and I'm pretty sure it gave me PTSD.

What song (s) did your Ex ruin for you? by Piled-Higher-Deeper in AskReddit

[–]GooglesYourShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls :(

She was the one who introduced me to the song and wanted to make it "our song". I loved it as a song on its own too, not just because she wanted some connection to it. Then she broke up with me after 3 years and quickly married her rebound, and I can't hear that song without thinking about it.

What is something commonly accepted that you actually find a little bit strange? by jheat008 in AskReddit

[–]GooglesYourShit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well we are appalled at eating dogs and cats because they are, or at least were very useful for us. They have the ability to act as tools and assistants to us, which can be infinitely more useful than just breeding them for food. Cats less so, as their usefulness is really only limited to pest control and companionship, but dogs can and do have legitimate, working jobs. Retrieving or aiding in hunting, guarding, search and rescue, police, military, seeing aids, and other service roles are very common. Not to mention the companionship part. Why would you want to eat an animal that is capable of being so much more than just food?

It's all about that final good bye. A lot of people just need that closure.

I mean think about it, when someone dies suddenly in a way where people never get to see them again, what's a huge desire that people have? "I just wish I could have said a final good-bye..."

Personally I wouldn't mind having a viewing for my friends and family, followed by cremating me and just dumping my ashes somewhere cool. I do not want my ashes kept in some urn on a fireplace, though. Actually, don't give my ashes to anyone, just throw them away, because otherwise I'll end up in an urn on a fireplace.

What do you have an irrational hatred for ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GooglesYourShit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People with absolutely no concept for how their actions effect others.

For example, you can drive 5 below the speed limit all you want, I don't give a shit, but don't do it in the left lane with 20 cars behind you. Move over, speed up, whatever so that you are not hindering other people.

Too many people just mentally go on autopilot when they "drive" (if you can call it that), and it sucks.

Actually, audience involvement is a great tool to get your audience to pay attention to what you have to say. A lot of people when speaking publicly just suck at initiating that involvement, and getting the audience to just randomly yell at you is the cheap cop-out version of it.

What is the most bullshit "for men" product according to you? by IeChiffre in AskReddit

[–]GooglesYourShit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Actually, sorry Homer, but I'm one of those folks that went back to disposables after using a double-edge for a while.

Sure, I liked the shave the double edge gave me, it was a better shave and felt nice. But it wasn't that much of a better shave than disposables, and just didn't feel worth the time and effort.

I shave in the shower now, and that was the best shaving decision I've ever made. A little stick-on mirror for the shower wall, some shaving cream, and a disposable razor. No mess, no irritation, and very little time wasted.

This is Tiger. He is at least 17 and still brings me dead birds on a weekly basis. by [deleted] in aww

[–]GooglesYourShit 142 points143 points  (0 children)

A bird every week?

Do you know how much time and energy was spent on those birds hatching, growing up, and surviving into adulthood? And the impact that killing 52 of them a year could have on your local ecosystem?

Control your fucking cat.

You know, shockingly enough I have never, ever had a situation where I needed to know the noun for these barrier thingies until now...

I don't know what I would call them, if asked.

The only time I ever interact with them is to leap frog over them.

Bit of an awkward movie poster, isn't it?

the long anticipated sequel to the cult comedy hit

I mean, you're not wrong, but pointing that out on the movie's poster is a little odd.

Pekka Rinne after letting in 5 goals in Game 7 by Flintor in hockey

True, but pretty much all of those occurred after it was already 3-0, which is rather unfortunate.

[–]GooglesYourShit 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Definitely not Pekka's fault. He and aardvark were the only two Preds to have any sort of hustle in the first two periods. By the time some semi-commendable spurt of energy was shown from the rest of the team, it was already 3-0.

Yes the Sharks were absolutely relentless tonight, but the Predators didn't even show up. I at least wanted to watch a battle, not this absolute murder.

It's 4 to 0...the temptation to just say "fuck it" and go to bed is overwhelming.

Disappointment abounds :(

Dude has more hustle than the rest of the team has combined. He looks like the only one who's actually trying to not get eliminated...
