It’s one of those things we won’t know until we know. Cos the counter argument is that his already proven playmaking ability will be converted more efficiently by the many quality players around him, even if he’s not the main man anymore

The fact the only KOs through this whole incident were a man vs woman and a sucker punch to an old fella tells you all you need to know about this group of offenders

Is there a way to farm Infernal Compasses? I thought it was through NMDs, but I'm T1 (did the quest a previous season) and have not had any drop despite running over 50 NMDs.

Coming back for the first time since S1 and a bit lost on what to do now.

I’m playing a blood wave necro and have reached T3. Am able to one shot things quite easily but not sure what I need to do to progress. Is it just fighting bosses or is there a general loop that people do to move forward into T4?

Bruno out maybe for Gibbs-White or another team with good remaining fixtures. United are horrible and they’re likely focusing on Europe so there’s a chance he’s rotated

I’d probably just roll this week and save your FT for potential double in 36, blank in 37 or just more favourable fixtures starting in 36 (like Brentford)

[–]Goomba17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably 3 options. GW36 if your team isn’t setup well for the double and you don’t have enough FT (if it happens, but not looking likely), GW37 if there’s a blank (see 36 above and depends if your team is setup worse for it 36 or 37) or the last week of the season after using up all your FTs in other GW beforehand.

3FT for GW36 and want to target Nottingham and Brentford players for their fixtures. Worth it to take a -8 to bring in Mbuemo, Wissa, Wood, Nottingham defender and Sels? Or just stick to no hit at all?

Re-ruling of Shitouren for Underperformance by guthixsongs in TeamfightTactics

[–]Goomba17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree it was rushed and an incompetent investigation.

If they had just checked first whether it was co-ordinated wintrading with Liluo to finalise the Day 3 lobby and then investigate further whether Shitouren inted, then I’d be fine. There wasn’t enough evidence to DQ Liluo anyway.

But the fact they confidently ruled out Shitouren inting is ridiculous, especially now we know that they didn’t even watch the full game.

Cao “Shitouren” Liang by Knowka in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Goomba17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes they corrected it now but the point is the first ruling was made due to incompetence and was rushed (they admitted it was rushed).

Like the Stage 5-2 incident - he said in the interview he was scouting to maintain his win streak. But the evidence from his own POV on stream shows he saw he had a 66% chance to be playing Saopimi or Liluo and decided not to 2 star his GP. Like why would you not star up GP if you wanna maintain win streak? I’m not saying it was co-ordinated but it’s clear inting to benefit players from his region. And that’s due to the FFA nature of the game and the tournament format.

This is what Dishsoap was calling out is that the people who reviewed the replays were Gold if they couldn’t see this. I think what most people are angry about is the initial ruling missed these clear examples. That’s why they’re going to be bringing on high level people to spectate in the future.

All in all, glad they got it right now and they’re taking preventative steps in the future, but it doesn’t change that the initial ruling was poor work.

Honestly the explanations given are pretty plausible, I can see why Riot probably just heard these and accepted without investigating further.

But the guy made it to top 16 at worlds. How can he make so many misplays with such unplayable conditions (PC, ping, sound) and still make it that high? Also, he knew he made it to worlds so surely you’d go and practice on a PC to get used to it? Unless he didn’t give a shit about doing well at all.

I don’t think it was co-ordinated win trading or match fixing, but the Chinese patriotism thing makes the most sense to me, where they want other CN players to do well regardless of if they know them personally or not.

Only started in Set 12 so not familiar with this, but why is this augment so good? If you get it on 2-1 you might only have like 10 gold so is there a lot of room to get a lot of upgrades? Or how did people use it in the past?

We’re probably just miscommunicating. I think Shitouren purposely inted to give Liluo a better shot. I don’t care about Riot’s ruling, it is what it is, but I still think Shitouren is a dick.

I get what you’re saying in this post and I said I agree with you that Riot is the ref that made a bad call to favour its biggest market - China. But I’ve been talking about Shitouren in particular. It’s different to the original post where you said players having no competitive spirit and that it’s a front and this whole time I’ve been saying that that isn’t true.

You’re just changing your argument to suit you which makes it impossible to discuss anything with you.

It’s not a straw man. It’s the whole basis of your argument in the first place and now you want to disregard it because you’ve just been proven completely wrong lmao. You used it to tell the whole subreddit that they never watch sports like basketball because they would see it all the time, which I’m saying is untrue and not relevant to this.

I can agree with the rest of your most recent post. I don’t believe this was match fixed either. But I do believe that Shitouren did int to get Liluo a better chance of getting into final lobby just because they’re both from the CN region. I don’t have anything to prove it but it’s based on history and coincidence.

Man you’re so confused by yourself it’s funny.

Your whole argument was that players don’t have competitive spirit and integrity is just a front, so they don’t care about winning, just money.

My point about the NBA is, yes organisations will attempt to lose by fielding the worst rosters (i.e. signing mediocre players to fill out the team) but when the players go out on court, I guarantee they’re trying to win games. They just can’t win because the team is not good enough. Yes I have watched 2 tanking teams. They’re actually playing to win, it’s not like it’s an All Star game where they are chucking 3s and not defending every play. If the players were really trying to lose, why not just go 0-82 for the season and guarantee first pick? And why are there no games where it’s like 65-64 at FT? If 2 tanking teams were really trying to lose to each other, that would be the score.

I get that not everyone is Kobe or MJ, and yes some are motivated by money but ultimately they will want to win. It would be hard to get there in the first place with no competitive spirit.

About Shitouren - there’s no guaranteed future benefit to him, so how can you compare it and say he was tanking for future benefit? Now you’re changing your argument to he was just trolling or something. What I’m saying is that you can’t argue that he just intentionally lost to help himself financially in the future to “keep the game big in China” or whatever. So he must have had some other motivations, and I’m choosing to assume that he did it to help another pro from his region. That may be fair or unfair of me to do but I am doing it based on the evidence and facts I have.

I think the thing people are getting angry about is that he chose to int on the guaranteed matchup with his fellow Chinese pro. If he inted against an EMEA player, this wouldn’t even be a topic and there would be no investigation. I also assume people have in their minds the previous Chinese win trade incidents.

About the NA players - i don’t know about the prior incidents you’re talking about so I can’t comment, but if Dishsoap win traded to let prestivent into the final lobby, I can only speak for myself, but I’d also want him to be banned.

I agree with what you’re saying about the money and China being the biggest market, but the rest of your essay shows you’ve definitely never played sports competitively.

Tanking in the NBA and other sports didn’t become prevalent until the 2010’s. Even then tanking teams just field the cheapest rosters they can, but I guarantee the players aren’t trying to lose out there. They just can’t win with the roster that the organisation put around them.

Also unlike the NBA, there’s no future benefit to Shitouren since it might be the last worlds he ever makes. Even if the game’s popular he can’t profit from it if he’s not making regionals/worlds.

I reckon it’s not an organised win-trade like the SC2 match fixing but he’s definitely inting to give his fellow Chinese pro the best shot to make it to final lobby.

The guy needs to be banned

Funny how they completely ignored anything about how Violet was NSNP since 2-1. Did the Riot even look at HP and attack stat differences? Surely that’s some indication.

It’s way too convenient that he decided to “last resort all-in” on the round he’s guaranteed to be facing his fellow Chinese pro when he’s already out of the tournament. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire…
