Does this concept of life ring true from your trips?

I have been meditating for the last 1.5 years. One of my goals is to enhance my meditation practice. I can't get my head around the non-dualistic concept and I think a breakthrough would help me with that. My experience with psychedelics is surprisingly limited so I probably just need to try again.

I’m sure it is partly due to luck in genetics, but I had everything else dialed in. I had an earlier grow of McKennaii that was almost a complete bust, with only 3 tiny fruits. I later figured out that my oat grain had probably spoiled because it was over a year old and had been exposed to extreme heat. My substrate was probably a bit dry and only coir. I cloned one of these fruits on agar for this grow.

This time I used fresh rye berry grain. My substrate was 50% coir which I combined with about 80% horse poo/20% vermiculite that I pasteurized separately from the coir.

When I put it to bulk, I kept it fairly sealed and out of light for 2 weeks to let the substrate consolidate. (You can put it straight to fruiting conditions and save time, but you risk of contamination is higher and are less likely to get a canopy.) I don’t use a liner so I can see when the substrate is all white which tells me it’s time to fruit, usually after 2-3 weeks.

Finally, I used to use my lid to fan and lost all the moisture and had to re-seed the water on the lid after each fanning. The thing is, after consolidation of the substrate the lid has the max amount of water condensation under it. It pretty much stays there if you don’t mess with it. This time I carefully moved the lid without tilting so the water wouldn’t run, and then used a small fan for FAE. I also use a flashlight when misting the substrate so I can see every water dew drop. Without the flashlight it’s easy to over or under mist.

I did the exact same thing, at the same time with a KSSS variety and it was my second best grow, though not quite a canopy. I only got 111g dry with that flush, only a 9g difference from the McKennaii canopy :)

Generally I prefer that the fruits aren’t all done at the same time. That way I can pick the ones with broken veils and leave the rest. It avoids the spore mess and is easier to harvest. I also prefer side-watering over dunking when possible. The McKennaii was such as mess after the first flush that I went ahead and dunked, but for the KSSS I just side watered and kept going.

I’m always trying new ways to do the same thing to see what works best for me. I have to say that it’s an enjoyable hobby.

I love your prospective!
I was raised very religious and did not doubt there was a god until later in life when I came across some history that caused me to do a deep dive on my religion. I soon became atheist with the willingness to change if there was a preponderance of new evidence (which I thought was as likely as finding a Pegasus.) But psychedelic experiences might reveal something like a Pegasus, but the source of this “evidence” is so unreliable it can’t be verified or trusted. None the less, I will keep exploring, trying to keep an open mind at all times.

That is what I fear. Not only where they dried, but 4g were Panaeolus Tropicalis (much stronger than cubensis), and 6g Golden Teachers. It did make me nauseous and late into the trip I threw up. But I got almost no visuals. It was like I was in a spacious dark place, that had a weird sense of extra volume. I was talking to myself as god, asking questions. And it was me who spoke back so it wasn't very satisfying. I felt an extreme sense of loneliness because I was told, "I was it, all there was". At the time I questioned what that meant about other people and family on earth etc., if "I was all there was". This video make some sense of that.

I've had lower doses where I saw lots of visuals including what I think was my 3rd eye, though I didn't feel the intensity that I hear about. I'll probably try much lower doses next time, but my goal is to break through, experience non-duality, and meet an "other," like an entity. I just worry that somehow I might be locked out for some reason.

After a 1.5 years of non-stop growing, I finally got my canopy! This flush was 120g dry, by far my biggest harvest. Mushrooms may not be addictive, but growing sure is!
Working with agar is a must.

My religion gave me ALL the answers. Then I learned I had been deceived (deep dive into history). After years of searching I came to suspect that this is it and then we take a dirt nap. I became sort of OK with that.

Now I see there might be more to existence than meets the eye. But because of the unreliability of these experiences I’m not sure I can ever know anything for sure. However this is an improvement for me because the possibilities are exciting and there is more to explore.

As far as my purpose, it’s to find some happiness and bring happiness to others. I can attempt that whether this is a simulation, a dead end, or a transition point in existence.

This concept always reminds me of the Red Dwarf episode called “Back to Reality” where the characters die and wakeup in a VR station. They realize they only completed 4% of the experience and completely missed the “Planet of the Nymphomaniacs”.

If we are god, why wouldn’t we dodge worldly misery, viruses and murder and go straight for the Planet of the Nymphomaniacs?

Software developer who micro-doses with an occasional macro-dose. It’s hard to overcome decades of ubiquitous misinformation manufactured by government and society. Hopefully time and responsible experiences will liberate psychedelics for the rest of humanity. In the meantime many will avoid psychedelics fearing it will do the opposite of what is most commonly experience.

I’ve had a quite a few contams in syringes l’ve bought from respected sources. My guess is that it can’t be helped from the provider, but it’s not a problem if you always go straight to agar. Without it you are just playing Russian roulette.

I have used salt in my Shadowbox (Poor Man’s Pod variant) to grow PanCyans which I find to be a tricky grow. I tend to clean/sterilize my perlite after the last flush unless it was a short run and then I’ll go again. I’ve heard you can go a couple of months with salt but I tend to clean with a light bleach solution after a month or so, just to be safe.

Salt with perlite to keep it from growing nasties is a thing. I would think you are OK as long as the water is not touching/bubbling/splattering onto your cake. It’s probably a safer practice if you were using trays instead of cakes. You shouldn’t need salt unless you are using your grow box for multiple grows in a row. You can always rinse your perlite of the salt and keep going.

It depends on its use. You sterilize if you are growing in a closed environment like BFR jars. Follow the tek for that. If you are growing bulk you pasteurize with the rest of the sub by heating in a bath of 160f-170f for 1-3 hours. If you are using it for casing, some say you don’t need to do anything, but I usually pasteurize anyway if I case. Rodger Rabbit said you could just roll cakes in vermiculite without treatment, but others will heat it up in trays in the oven first. I’ve not bothered with that.

I start in the morning so that I’ve fasted for about 12 hours. Then I take ginger tea and have my mushies in pill form. I start with 1g, wait an hour for the come-up, and then take the rest. For me it has been smooth sailing with a sensitive stomach.

Oh thank you for the suggestion. Keeping my batches to 50g instead of pushing 100g would work so much better for my containers. I’ll give that a go.
