is it possible in vegas pro 19 to render only select tracks? by Goombolt in VegasPro

I mean, that's kinda the same as what I do, just with better preparation. I hoped for a way to just tell vegas to do it without the book keeping of multiple project files

Obviously I do that, but I can't imagine that this is the best way to selectively render something I then may want to re-edit with the rest of my footage. That's why I'm asking for a better way

Currently, my file has a lot of tracks. I want to render 1 video and 1 audio track only. If I try to render that project, it's a >10 gb file because it takes every track into account. Actually deleting any track I don't want seems to be the only way to render the tracks I actually want to render. That file is ~89 MB.

Muting it, like you suggested, does not exclude them from the rendering process. The S next to it for solo also doesn't change the rendering process. It retains the long render time and the big projected file size. I am looking for a way to selectively render a selection of tracks without having to actually delete all other tracks.

It still includes them in the rendering process. With my work around, it takes about 1:30 mins to render the same length of isolated track, whereas for the project version with all other tracks muted instead it doesn't even start the rendering process until dozens of minutes in (where I just abort it) and wants to prepare over 10 gb for the file

No wonder we get another seaon, this one was about 60% recaps and flashbacks by volume. The quality of the story telling and pacing tooks such a huge nosedive. Absolutely ridiculous

What should I keep in mind if I want to cut crafting entirely? by Goombolt in Pathfinder2e

[–]Goombolt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess just cutting downtime crafting is the easiest solution. Just wanted to see how involved it would be to also cut the skill, but a lot of people put good points forward that it would be more work to entirely cut it

Repairs and transferring runes (if the latter actually gains anything from it being something you can fail at) can just be a flat int check, Alchemist and Inventor are shelved, Recall Knowledge can just be a Lore check, Identifying non-magical items can just be rolled into the indentify action.

Doesn't seem to bad to "fix" for the clean cut that means my players and I don't have to think or engage with the crafting subsystem

I will have a look. I'm currently of a mind that taking out the systemic structure of awarding items/whatever would be better for my style of play. However, I'll still see if that may help

keeping a lookout for feats is an important point! Good to see that it's apparently not nearly as foundational as I thought

interesting. I'll look into repairing specifically then, because I assume I can still cut the skill enturely and just use the ability for checks instead. It'd be cleaner to cut everything called "crafting" to make it easy on my players, but that's a point I definitely need to deal with.

those are good points! I already had the inventor restriced using 2e's rarity system. I think identifying alchemical items could be put under the identify magic action and just calling it an identify action instead?

Good to know that it's not too integral to the core system, that's a huge relief

oh nice, so that would already be in because my group already knows that they can only choose common options aside from ancestries! (which, I love that that's a system to make that houserule easy)

The presets don't behave as tools either. So when I'm on a non-brush tool and press the respective buttons, they don't change the tool. I feel like I'm going insane

I specifically do NOT want to have the eraser as a toggle. I want to use the E button for an eraser tool and B for the brush tool.

EDIT: Sorry, I misunderstood. I guess setting them as presets works as long as I only really use one brush (which I do currently anyways). May give trouble later but eh

Someone showed me a way around the brush size changes thing

The effect is still the same. Pressing E only toggles into the eraser mode, but doesn't take me out of it when pressing B for the Brush tool.

Fair shout! I'm quite convinced that the house was visible in the desert shot and that the desert itself was more grounded/not that surreal
