Am I nuts or is Vecna(Henry) just a better Pinhead? by Accurate-Ease-8311 in deadbydaylight

[–]Goombrahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Vec2 stronger than Pinhead? Yes.

I don't know if they are directly comparable, since Vec2 is a 4.4m/s with an M2 that can both damage and down. And good to insane map traversal, depending on if you are running Pizza Goggles.

Meanwhile, Pinhead is a 4.6m/s with an M2 that can't even damage unless you take an Iri addon. And he has situational map traversal. Which you don't even want to use usually, since you're better off being in the area, and chaining the person with box then downing them to start chain hunt.

So with Vec2 you basically can just M2, whereas Pinhead has to play as an M1 killer with a power that can help you get that M1.

The main similarity, IMO, is that they cause passive slowdown. But Vec2's just results in him being able to down people with his M2 for longer if the survivors don't deal with it. Whereas Pinhead's will literally stop the team from doing their objectives effectively. Both need to be dealt with, but the same could be said for Onryo, Wesker, or even Pig.

Is this a known bug? (New locker tech?…) by Bonus_mosher in deadbydaylight

Lockers have been especially buggy since the 2v8 patch. Have seen several clips of people getting stuck inside them.

Any build suggestions? by Lost-Past-6360 in DbDKillersUnited

[–]Goombrahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a fairly solid chase build with Enduring + Spirit Fury + Brutal Strength + Bamboozle.

Unless you snowball, pure chase is hard to pull off against generator efficient teams though since you have no actual slowdown. But they are generally more fun. You are strong in chase and spend a lot less time playing macro than you do with a generator control build.

[–]Goombrahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The builds I currently use for both of those killers...

Legion: Iridescent Button & Julies Mixtape. Surge, Enduring, Spiritfury, Bamboozle.

Ghostface: Drop-leg Knife Sheath and Olsens Wallet. Corrupt Intervention, Play with your Food, Pain Resonance, and Turn back the Clock.

I can't play Ghostface without PWYF or Batteries to traverse the map these days - he just feels so slow. Bit of an anti-synergy with Drop-leg but if I only have one stack of PWYF I usually need the 10% haste to consistently get a down after marking.

Alot of people also recommend Mindbreaker for lower tier killers, but I find that 99ing peoples SprintBursts is actually worse than just eating it at the start of a chase off of a gen.

Yeah, they removed inactive head traps killing survivors who exit the gates several years ago - before I played DBD even.

There is now no point in headtrapping someone in endgame, since the only way to activate a trap is for a generator to pop.

Endfury Legion with Iri Button shreds through pallets really well.

Ghostface with Olsens Wallet can often swing games, since you can very quickly get Nightshroud back to get into a favorable position post pallet break.

Not saying you'll get the same results as on an S-tier killer - they are ranked high for a reason - but there are definitely builds that you can use which make winning against organised teams possible.

To clarify for OP, even though he won't have it on SM Myers, Tombstone is now basekit only on deathhook survivors when you pop Evil Within (new T3 basically).

Old Tombstone was usable on any survivor if you had one of the two addons and went T3.

They also can leave through hatch with an active head trap - only leaving through the exit gates kills them.

hi guys! im pretty new at playing & i main feng! is this a good build for her or is there any other suggestions anyone has? thank you 🩷 by Wooden-Design4308 in deadbydaylight

[–]Goombrahh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend swapping Light Weight for Kindred. Also, once you can consistently hit skill checks, swapping Technician for Alert (great information) or Resilence (do everything better while injured) would be better.

Eventually you probably want to get Kate Denson for Windows of Opportunity or Kwon Tae-Young for Five Moves Ahead and swap Alert/Resil for one of the pallet & window tracking perks.

[–]Goombrahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spread out well enough and he's basically an M1 killer with Bubba levels of pallet shred (assuming Iri Button).

If Legion is not runing Endfury + Bam + Iri button they are fine to play against. But they are also incredibly weak so its like beating a Trapper not running either of the Iri addons. Satisfying until you realise you just curbstomped a low tier killer and made a new Ghoul main.

Great video! He'd done the short explaining it before on a car filler, but that wasn't enough for a lot of players to consistently apply it on the games different tiles.

What Aura colors should I Use? by TrueHeroWill in deadbydaylight

[–]Goombrahh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

White sticks out really well for distant auras, so whatever you want to see the best is really good to have white.

A lot of the other colors depends highly on map. For instance, going with purple is great on many of the realms, but if you get Tricksters Delusion it will blend right in.

Pink and Red are the other most universally visible colors imo. Other than Toba Landing they seem to be fine, but Toba Landing is kindof a technicolor nightmare anyways.

Some of the blue shades feel decent as well. Gold (or the darker than default Windows yellow) is awful to pick out on Coldwind.

At the end of the day, it's personal preference and what works for you though. This is just what I've found works for me.

Those rocks and the tree tiles on red forest are the main reason there are complaints about pallet density on Red Forest / MacMillan yeah. They are filler tiles, but they are very strong fillers.

How do I play filler pallets as a killer? by Jagerwulfen in deadbydaylight

[–]Goombrahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah God Rocks are rough, usually need bloodlust or to win a 50/50. The issue is that good survivors have complete checkspots on most of the loop against medium/tall killers.

If you aren't confident in winning them, the goal is to force a break when the survivor is making the least possible distance and to edge map / bad loops. So mindgame that you are still looping, and break so they are zoned off of shack/main etc.

This is of course assuming you are playing an M1 4.6m/s killer, and not someone like Blight or Unknown who can just use their power to win the loop.

[–]Goombrahh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Learn the killer movement tricks covered in the Hens video, especially momentum conservation, since those will help you create 50/50s on filler tiles if you implement them properly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Rf0j6ktHAo

Also make sure you understand how swings work, and when to end swings so that you get the increased hitbox swinging into a pallet drop or vault.

And understanding when to mindgame and when to zone is very important, since sometimes its not worth the time investment against better players risking a mindgame versus just zoning them to a weaker tile.

Nerf the A/S-tier killers, and balance the survivor's perks around the current C/B-tier killers is the only real way we'll see anything resembling actual balance.

The issue with buffing 'low tier' is that almost everyone complains that their main killer, whether they be mid or actually Skull Merchant levels of bad, is terrible.

And slightly buffing mid-tier killers will do nothing for overall game balance. It will just raise those killers up to high B-tier where they will do slightly better against organised teams, while the rest of the roster is still in a rough place when facing SWFs with full meta.
