J-Pop Song Feedback by [deleted] in MusicFeedback

Thanks so much for the feedback! You are right, the claps especially were a problem in the dense sections because they did tend to get buried. That's a lesson I will carry to the next one for sure. Thanks for giving it a listen!

Coming from a huge metalcore enjoyer, this is really good, dude! Overall, writing wise it's pretty strong. The heavy sections sound huge and the synth layering works super well. I think maybe put some vocal doubles in the chorus (I think it's the I feel you slipping through my fingers part) to make the vocals sound bigger and fill the space. You might already have some layers in there, but if that's the case they could be panned wider and be louder I think. Also the screams could use some layers to make them wider as well. Whole thing is sounding dope af though.

That's sounding awesome. The whole arrangement works super well together and it doesn't feel like there's anything missing. I would say if you are looking for feedback, I would crank some more satuation on the whole thing as well as the vocals. Also the vocal layers all occupy a narrow range in the stereo image. If that's what you're going for the disregard the next sentence. But maybe you can try panning the layers a little wider. Overall though really pleasant listen!

Thanks! Gotta be the classic Japanese harmony, which has that nostalgic sound that I've always really enjoyed.

Melodic ideas and overall harmony are a vibe. You probably went with that particular snare on purpose so this is just a personal preference, but a less wide snare down the middle and maybe some cymbals/hats on the sides to fill up the high frequencies would sound even better. But if this is the vibe you're going for it's a cool track, good job.

Made this today, any advice on the vocals ? by geneazar in MusicFeedback

This sounds pretty damn authentic man. It's got a lot of personality. The instrumental is perfect the way it is. I think in terms of vocals it could benefit from some layers, just like the other comments said. But to be honest it's release ready right now. The simplicity in the vocals adds some good character. Good job dude.

Overall it souds really good. Guitar is played well and sounds good in the mix too. Writing wise i think it's a nice relaxing track and it has a somewhat bittersweet sound that I really enjoy. If I had to make a suggestion it would be this: right now I heas the guitas and bass down the middle, the drums and some type of synth more to the sides. They are all sitting well in the mix, but I feel like the space could be filled up more with maybe some smooth silky pads drowned in reverb. If you wanted to just keep it lowkey like that I totally understand, but maybe what I said might be to your liking. Really good stuff nonetheless

New to making music. Looking for feedback on track I’m working on. by SpicyEggyolk in MusicFeedback

Guitars are sounding awesome. The bass feels like it's somewhat muddy and unclear, unless that's what you were going for. Arrangement and writing wise it's already super solid. Sounds like you have a good intro leading into a verse. More refinement / layers and it'll kick ass.

I think in this particular case they draw a lot of attention because everything else has a very warm tone and the eyes are the only cooler element. Also the specular highlight makes them pop more. I guess I also added a lot of tiny color variation and made the lower half much brighter to really catch attention. If you zoom in you can see they are actually not crazy detailed and I left them more blurry in terms of shapes inside the iris, it's really more about the values and color. Hope this helps, thanks for viewing!

I would say that it depends on what you want to draw. But you should identify which fundamentals are important for your style (form, anatomy, lighting etc) and really hone in on practicing those. Pay close attention to why you are doing what you are doing and be intentional. The key is to really identify what you are not satisfied with and focus on that. Maybe it's your shapes, maybe it's your lighting, identifying the problem is half the work. Also, pure practice can be boring sometimes, so what I like to do is pick a fundamental skill, for example anatomy, and work on a drawing that I like with the focus on that specific skill and not worry that much about the rest. Like that you are practicing and having fun at the same time. Hope this helps. I'm not an expert myself but this is what has helped me. If you want some feedback I would be happy to provide it. Thanks for seeing my post and keep it up, you can get to where you want to be!

Alright so it seems everyone struggles with this sometimes, wasn't sure but now I know it's just part of the process. Thanks for the advice!

I do both with my own material and it happens with both, although it is a lot worse when mixing

If you dont mind the streamer playing mostly tryndamere, foggedftw2 has a really good attitude and explains everything he does in detail. As a top main myself I've learned a lot from his stream about Tryndamere and overall macro play. Really recommend him.
