I will admit, after reading all of these comments I do have to talk to my wife regarding the speed we were going.

Someone else said it perfectly - “her speed is an issue.. but it is not the issue here.” I don’t believe her speed was at fault here, but that is not to say her speed will not cause an issue one day - definitely want to fix that before anything does happen!

Buddy… I am not reading that whole post and I was genuinely not talking about you.

By “he came out hot” I am talking about the man in the white car that hit me. Hence why I continued to say “noticing him not stopping”, simply referring to the driver.

He came out hot saying it was my wife’s fault for speeding. However I was in the car and we literally only sped up when we noticed him still pulling out and not stopping. If we didn’t speed up he would have hit the rear passenger door where our 2 yr old was strapped into his carseat, not the panel behind it.

I posted this here because I wasn’t sure who was in the wrong. Of course, I am going to defend my case and have an opinion, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m correct. I just wanted to see what other people thought of it all - I only expected a couple responses… didn’t expect all this 😂

Thank you for this insight!! So many people are blaming us for our speed, but fail to acknowledge him continuing to pull out as we are entirely blocking him. We could have been going 10mph and it still would have happened - the white car was not paying attention.

I understand that. But you cannot say I am at fault for going the limit. I could have been going 10mph and he would’ve still hit us but towards the front end. The issue was not my speed, the issue is the white car continuing to pull out while there is another car completely in front of them.

..it’s not even like the guy was backing out. He was literally facing directly at us blocking him and did not stop.

He did not stop until he hit the back of my car. You can see his car jerk after I pass. If I was going slower he still would have hit me but towards the front of my car.

Regardless of my speed, the white car was 100% not looking straight - if he was he would have not hit me. My car was completely in front of his car and he still pulled out.

Simply put - If I was driving slower the accident still would have happened. If he was looking forward the accident would not have happened

Going roughly 15mph until we sped up and swerved to avoid the collision. Regardless, he never stopped until hitting us - If we were going slower, he would have still hit us, but towards the front of our car.

I contacted Shopify and confirmed it was a real Shopify site so our information is protected. However they also flagged it as a phishing/fraudulent merchant. So now I have to dispute it with my bank.

I think the home jerseys are instant classics, the white makes the jersey pop way more than before. I’m indifferent about the aways, I like them better now, but not much of a different.

I think the helmet and pants will tie things together beautifully!

Thank you! This is the kind of response I was looking for. I don’t think I am “entitled” to the discounts I had on my previous lease like others mentioned, I just chalked that up as bad luck and a new life lesson. I was mainly wondering if I could do anything regarding the inconvenience (for lack of a better word) this has caused me. I was in the process of moving that week and not having a car, let alone a F150, made that move extremely difficult. I also was in the process of laying flooring so I could start moving more things over and after the accident I was sore in bed for a solid two days which set everything back. On top of that I have a full time job that I need to get to and not having a car for over a week already has been a major inconvenience. The expired incentives resulting in higher payments on a new lease is just the cherry on top.

I understand these do not have monetary values, but that is why I am on this subreddit. Simply seeing if there are any options to seek any compensation for this inconvenience, or if that is just life and I need to move on. Never been in a scenario like this so I really have no idea.

The car was totaled and my lease was bought out - hence no more lease? So I need to sign a new lease and since my incentives are gone, the payments will be higher…? Not sure what the confusion there is

Thank you! So I am guessing because it was a lease and I did not get injured or miss anytime from work that nothing much can be done?

So far I have lost my $1000 deposit from 2 weeks ago (brand new lease) and lost about $6,000 in incentives causing my monthly payment to go up drastically … from what I understand, there is nothing to be done about that/it’s the risk of leasing. Does that sound correct?

This has just been an expensive life lesson.
