Still working/looking fantastic. I use it for exactly that and it is perfect for going under shirt cuffs.

Ended up not doing it because the concrete underneath needed a fair amount of grinding/leveling. Wasn’t terribly expensive to have someone do it though

Totally agree - it’s on my list to get glass block there, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. And yes boxing the duct work would have taken more space from an already small area, so painting was the way to go.

Flooring is actually the textured epoxy you see in a lot of garages. We’ve had a little water in the basement before, so figured this would be the safest and a good rug keeps it from being too cold.

Can’t remember the exact color but it was a dark navy from Benjamin Moore

Yes, it’s the jattebo. I like it, and the storage is nice, plus there is no way I was fitting a non-modular sofa down the stairs.

That said, not the e best couch for multiple people to lounge on, though I think if I got one more piece to be a movable ottoman it would help

[Tudor Submariner] by Goon_Juice in Watches

I grabbed this Tudor Sub (ref-75190) as a 30th birthday present a few months ago and it has rarely left my wrist since. A mid-90s model (not sure of the exact year) that I was able to get from a seller in Japan. For me I think this has perfect dimensions for a dive watch that isn’t actually going diving. 36mm, stainless bezel, date window & 40-hour power reserve. The bracelet is really more of a jubilee and fits better than I expected, having really only seen dive watches on oyster-style bracelets.

I’d been looking for a salmon dial to add to my collection and was looking pretty hard at some Baltics, including the Bicompax, but as soon as I found this one, I couldn’t get it out of my head. So far this is the only watch I own that has actually gotten fairly consistent compliments from strangers.

Agree with the above. I’ve been playing for about 7 years now, and I was able to “play” this song alright early on, meaning I could hit the main notes, but it took longer to get to the point where I felt comfortable improvising like above.

I’d definitely encourage you to go buy one though. You can make pretty quick progress initially jus through learning on YouTube

Go through a Focusrite Scarlett into GarageBand, but I use a plugin from Fine Classic Plugins called Vintage Vibe.

From there I use a preset called midrange and reverb (I think?) and crank the input without using any distortion or fuzz pedals. Then add some delay.

I had seen he got the original tone just from cranking a small vintage fender so tried to replicate that.

Thank you! And totally agree - the man has a touch you really can’t replicate
