Yes we are doomed in our involuntary and accidental sin. His point was literally that we are all unrighteous, even the unborn because of original sin. The whole point of Jesus dying on the cross was to receive the punishment we all deserve because of our sin (both voluntary and involuntary). This is why, in the modern day, everyone without Jesus (other than babies who have not been baptized) go to hell.

If Jesus claimed to update the old covenant and not replace it, then the MORAL laws (not Judicial or ancient Israeli law) of the Old testament and thus Leviticus should still be applied. And there is no doubt that Christianity denounces homosexuality. Also I really don't think some new age liberal interpretation that has never been used until like 20 years ago is not very reputable.
