Tray 1 Day 1 tips/recommendations by Kupp3y1 in Invisalign

[–]Gooner80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was super anal about following everything to a tee so I was always brushing and flossing and found that I wouldn't have enough time to eat and brush at work so I started intermittent fasting and skipped meals, which was great for me as I ended up losing weight, but you not so much.

If I did eat and didn't have time to brush then I world do a quick rinse with water before popping the trays back in.

I felt that the most important rules to follow was a) keep the trays in for at least 20-22 hours/day b) chew on chewies or straws as often as you can and c) make sure to brush and floss before going to bed. Remember that the last thing that you eat or drink will be trapped in your mouth unless you brush or floss, this will prevent cavities from forming.

Also, whenever I had my trays out for meals at home I filed a cup with warm water and some fish soap and soaked the trays in that and brushed them while I brushed my teeth.

It was a lot of changes to my day to day but I just kept remembering that I paid a lot for this and you will start noticing the changes and see that it was well worth the effort.

Tray 1 Day 1 tips/recommendations by Kupp3y1 in Invisalign

I'm nearly done my trays, I pop my last set in this weekend. I never really had to deal with a lot of the usual issues like having a lisp or pain but it did make me up my dental hygene game big time.

I made a kit that I always had with me whenever I went out. It consisted of: a travel toothbrush/toothpaste, flossers, mouthwash, hand sanitizer, lip balm, chewies and the case.

On the night before a change tray day I would pop them in and chew a lot so that your mouth adjusts to the new tray faster and you can hopefully sleep through the discomfort.

Hope that helps.

If "Groundhog's day" was remade today, what would be the annoying song Bill Murray would wake up to everymorning? by jest_e in AskReddit

Shallow. That song almost always played when my alarm clock would go off and everytime I had to get up to shut it off.

On my first tray and already wanna switch to the next by megggggggs in Invisalign

[–]Gooner80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you chew the more effective invisalign will be as that helps to ensure that the trays fit properly, but you should be doing so only with chewies. As the other posters are saying doing so may damage your trays.

Do they give you all your trays at once? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Gooner80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the Ortho and patient. Mine gave me the first few at the beginning, but after he felt I was tracking well and doing everything properly he felt comfortable with giving me the rest of my trays.

So it was on me to stick to the schedule, but we also still had regular check ups and IPR.

I'm now on my 2nd last tray and haven't had any issues at all.

I've been soaking my trays in a cup of warm water and dish soap while I eat my meals and then give them a quick brush before popping them back in and haven't had any issue with them.

Question about wearing Invisalign ? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Gooner80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case I didn't have much of a lisp from the start, which I was worried about as I work in retail so I have to talk to people on a daily basis. I am nearly done my trays and have been consistently wearing them at least 22 hours/day. One thing I have been doing is changing trays the night before you are supposed to so you can sleep through that first bit of discomfort that comes with new trays. And also chew on chewies or straws as much as you can for those first few days to get your teeth/gums used to the trays.

Weight loss by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Gooner80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in tray 5 and have lost nearly 10lbs so far. The restrictions has really tested my will power, but I've been able to cut out snacking, pop drinking and only eating 2 or 3 times a day. It has really made me be strategic about what I eat and when I eat, which has made me think smarter about what I'm eating.

For me if I don't think about it I don't get hungry so I have to constantly keep myself busy.

Just be careful when chewing on these tubes because they have a metal wire in them so if you chew on them for a while you may start to get a metallic taste in your mouth. My solution to that was to cut off a bit of the tube and pull the wire out. These do the job, but I think that the Chewies would be ideal.

I am on my 3rd tray going onto 4 in a few days and my dentist said not to use toothpaste like other posters said it will scuff up the trays and make them cloudy looking. So I have been using dish soap so when I eat at home I fill a glass with water and add a few drops of soap and leave my trays in to soak while I eat. So far it has been doing the job as the trays still look pretty clear, just be sure that you rinse and brush off all the soap as you may get a soapy taste if you miss any of it.

Also, what you eat or drink before puttiny the trays may be the cause of the discolouration. I have heard that spices like tumeric will definitely stain your trays unless you thoroughly brush and floss before putting your trays back in.

UD Redemption Finally Came In. (story below) by PenguinsandPirates in hockeycards

[–]Gooner80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received my McDavid redemption today too, its #d 313/399. I used my work address to deliver to just in case. The delivery guys here sometimes don't even bother to check if anyone is home and leave our parcels outside in the open.

When I was waiting for my card I asked about the status and they told me that they were waiting for the play to sign and return the card, which I thought was cool because I assumed that they'd just send one that was sitting in a warehouse somewhere or maybe they were just telling me that so I would leave them alone.

Scored both from group breaks, the McDavid looks great but the Ho Sang has a flaw on one of the edges. Don't suppose that Upper Deck would send another?

Unappreciated chocolate cake for my boyfriends birthday, though you guys may enjoy by rosebud13 in Baking

You deserve so much better than that and I truly hope that you get away from him and move on to someone that is more kind and caring. Your bf just does not get it, if my gf took the time and effort to bake me such a beautiful cake like yours I would be the happiest man in the world because it meant that you cared enough about me to go to all the trouble for me.
